Bitki organlarina kirmizidan maviye kadar bircok rengi veren bu bilesikler ayni zamanda cok sayida biyolojik fonksiyonu da yerine getirmektedir. Antosiyaninlerin bitkilerdeki fonksiyonlarinin yaninda ozellikle gida sektorunde renklendirici olarak kullanim olanagi bulunmaktadir. Bu sektorun ihtiyacini karsilamak icin alternatif uretim yollari arastirilmaktadir. Bu baglamda bitki doku ve hucre kulturu teknikleri antosiyaninlerin uretimi icin alternatif yontemlerden bir tanesidir. Bu yontemlerle uretim yapabilmek icin cok sayida strateji uygulanmistir. Sideritis libanotica ssp. linearis was screened for the isolation of new natural antioxidant comp... more Sideritis libanotica ssp. linearis was screened for the isolation of new natural antioxidant compounds. The antioxidant activity of flavones obtained from the methanol extract of the plant was evaluated in vitro using total antioxidant, reduction power and free radical scavenging activity. Results were compared with the positive controls of antioxidant standards (α-tocopherol and butylated hydroxytoluene). The results indicate that the flavones possess a higher antioxidant activity when compared to the other components in the plant. The lowest antioxidant activity was observed in fatty acids (FAs) and hydrocarbons. The FAs were methylated with MeOH and KOH and analysed by GC-MS. The structures of the isolated compounds were established based on spectroscopic evidence (NMR, GC-MS, HPLC, IR and UV). In this work, the isolated pure flavone (3'-O-methylhypolaetin 7-O-[6″'-O-acetyl-β-D-allopyranosyl-(1 → 2)]-6″-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranoside) was found to possess the highest antioxidant activity.
Synthesis of novel acridine carboxylic acid compounds 4–18 was performed with the reaction of 4-a... more Synthesis of novel acridine carboxylic acid compounds 4–18 was performed with the reaction of 4-aminobenzoic acid 1, aromatic aldehyde 2a–n, 1,3-diketone 3a, 3b using microwave irradiation. These compounds were synthesized efficiently in one-pot procedure for 6 min without catalyst in high yields of 65–90 % using little ethanol. Radical scavenging activities of synthesized compounds 4–18 were determined by means of in vitro test using 2,2-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid radicals (ABTS·+). The activities of tested compounds were compared to the positive control such as butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene, and trolox. The results showed that the synthesized compounds 4, 6, 14, and 15 had effective free radical scavenging activity.
