Free radical activity can be inhibited by antioxidants such as chlorogenic acid inside the coffee. The purpose of this study was analyzes whether the administration of coffee may help prevent oxidative stress and inflammation in male rats (Rattus norvegicus) exposed by cigarette smoke. The research design was posttest only control group design. The total sample size of 5 group was 30 male rats (Rattus norvegicus) weighing 200-250 grams. The Independent variables were cigarette smoke and coffee, while the dependent variables were MDA and TNF-α. Normality test data by Shapiro Wilks was esed (α = 0.05) and homogeneity by Levene test was used(α = 0.05). Test different between groups by Brown Forsyte (α = 0.05) and continued with Games Howell test (α = 0.05). Test results of Brown Forsyte on MDA showed significant difference between groups (p = 0.001), and Games Howell test result showed there were significant differen...

Herein, an ROS scavenger of cysteine was exploited as a surface ligand to prepare cysteine-conjugated gold nanoclusters (Cys–AuNCs) and cysteine-conjugated silver nanoclusters (Cys–AgNCs) using a facile hydrothermal approach. The structural and optical characterizations demonstrated successful syntheses of Cys–AuNCs and Cys–AgNCs. With the same weight concentration, the bactericidal effect increased in the order of Cys–AuNCs, Cys–AgNCs, and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), according to the results of the bacterial growth curves. Furthermore, based on the results of the standard colony-counting method, the Cys–AuNCs revealed the best biocompatibility compared to those of the Cys–AgNCs and AgNPs in Escherichia coli (E. coli). The superior biocompatibilit...

The accumulation of uric acid in the joints can form crystals such as needles that cause pain and inflammation, causing interference with the motion system and changes in daily activities. Pain management caused by the accumulation of gout is one of them with physical activities in the form of ergonomic exercise based on spiritual care. This study aims to identify the effect of ergonomic exercise based spiritual care on reducing pain levels in the elderly with gouty arthritis. The design of this study used quasy experimental with control group pre test and post test. The population in this study were all patients with arthritis gout as many as 56 elderly. Samples were taken using total sampling and divided into two groups: 28 intervention groups and 28 control groups. The intervention group was given treatment in the form of ergonomic exercise for 4 weeks with the media...
