Also, a flawed gene that control the action of enzyme in the heme synthesis creates a lack of heme and build up of porphyrin. Porphyria can be triggered by environmental factors such as; infections, cigarette smoking, antibiotics, etc. Porphyria can be classified into acute porphyria that causes neurological symptoms, and cutaneous porphyria that cause photosensitivity, affecting the skin. In cutaneous porphyria, the two distinct pattern of skin disease seen are the immediate photosensitivity and vesiculo-erosive skin disease. Symptoms include; abdominal pain, muscle weakness, hallucination, pain in the back or chest, burning pain on the skin, red or brown urine. Long term complication include paralysis, skin scarring, permanent hair loss, gall stones, breathing difficulties, dehydration. It can be diagnosed...

To equip graduates with competencies suited for the job, it is vital to know the aspirations of present-day medical students. Hence, this study aimed to investigate their choice of career pathway and the influence of sociodemographic factors in Malaysian context. Methods: A quantitative study with cross sectional survey was conducted in a private medical school in Malaysia using well-structured questionnaire. 318 students from all five years of training were chosen by disproportionate stratified random sampling. Descriptive and inferential statistics was used for data analysis. Results: Majority of the study population showed inclination towards traditional pathway of either pursuing specialty training or opting for government service while, a few chose alternative careers. Gender and year of train...

This is to say that with the upsurge of ICT the relevance of the teacher is threatened. Thus the language teacher needs to change from the stereotype methods of teaching and apply all available resources to achieve his goals. It is the intention of this paper to present a discussion on how oral expression can be used to effectively teach literature in French at the Secondary School level in an Anglophone set-up.

Balance problems are major co-morbidities stroke survivors are posed with. The current study was undertaken to investigate the relationship of physical activity profile and selected clinical variables of stroke survivors ; disability level, balance status and duration of stroke in selected tertiary hospitals in Anambra State, Nigeria. Sixty-eight (68) participants were recruited for this study of which 46 were males and 22 were were females. Physical activity level were measured using a 7-day International Physical Activity Questionnaire-short form (IPAQ-SF), Clinical variables like disability level were measured using Modified Rankin Scale, balance status were measured using Berg Balance Scale. Demographic data were collected which included weight, height, BMI and duration of stroke. The data was tabulated, analyzed statistically and discu...
