This paper examines a study that aimed to fill in the gap in research about interfaith dialogue a... more This paper examines a study that aimed to fill in the gap in research about interfaith dialogue and leisure time education in Catalonia (Spain). Combining both quantitative and qualitative research methods, we analyzed the role that interfaith dialogue plays for leisure time educators. The research was carried out between 2021 and 2022 in three phases: one descriptive through an ad hoc questionnaire, a second one comprehensive by exploring educators’ voices in focus groups, and a third one prescriptive to design evidence-based policy recommendations and training frames. The whole research allowed us to state the low status that interfaith dialogue plays within the leisure time education in the research context, as well as the high expectations and positive attitude by educators to improve interfaith dialogue in these educational settings. This paper summarizes the main findings of research on education for sustainable development (ESD... more This paper summarizes the main findings of research on education for sustainable development (ESD) at the international level. The context of the research regards educating cities, or local administrations committed to education through all their policies with the purpose of transforming their territories through a human rights approach. The research’s goal is to explore to what extent educating cities are capable of coping with the three ESD challenges faced today: the gap between policy and practice, the lack of a transformative approach and the hegemony of formal education. To do so, we selected three educating cities with an important background on ESD—Barcelona, Changwon and Rosario—and we implemented a case study method. A detailed analysis of all the data obtained reveals that educating cities are suitable frameworks to overcome the current ESD challenges. It is part of a quantitative ex post facto research, applied in 30 children's centers, obtaining the management effectiveness index in inclusive education of 51.3%, related to a low knowledge to include children with disabilities.

The EU purposefully seeks out ambitious educational goals in its member states, with the aim of promoting a more competent, green and inclusive Europe. Nevertheless, there is a social sector that starts from a situation of disadvantage and inequality when trying to achieve these objectives: the children of immigrant families. In this text, there is a description of these objectives, and the current schooling reality of pupils from immigrant families, particularly concerning their outcomes and their difference in comparison with the level of the total school population. Once observed this situation, the different reports and documents, both official and academic, that establish the policies to be applied by the different educational systems in order to mend this difference and achieve real equal opportunities in this social sector are analysed.
