Fibre length, alkali treatment and fibre loading were studied as variables. The fibre orientation was irrespective of the fibre length, fibre loading and alkali treatment variables. The void content and size decreased with increases in fibre length and alkali treatment. The alkali treatment resulted in the removal of lignin, making the surface of the fibres rough. It also led to making the fibre count fine i.e. reducing the diameter of the fibres and thus presenting more fibres for interaction with resin. Both these phenomena resulted in a slower flow of resin. The void content of bagasse fibre composites decreased with higher fibre loading because a higher number of fibres slows the resin flow. However, the size i.e. area of the voids increased with the fibre loading from 20 to 30%, probably due to increased wet...

In this context, it is very important to understand how people can ensure good financial well-being. This article aims to explore the effects of financial literacy, risk tolerance, and risk perception on the financial well-being of individuals, with an emphasis on behavioral investment interventions. Quantitative research methods are used to measure the factors that affect financial well-being. A questionnaire was developed on Google Forms to collect data from people who have bank accounts. The sample of 318 Pakistanis supports the proposed hypothesis. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to evaluate the results. The results show that risk tolerance, risk perception and financial literacy influence people's investment behavior and ultimately their financial well-being. Individual financial behavior needs to be improved. In this context, there is an urgen...

Recent works were able to achieve state-of-the-art results by incorporating Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) to capture spatial dependencies in the data. However, these works rely on a fixed latent feature representation of the underlying graph structure, failing to exploit the rich spatial information offered by the road network. In this paper, we propose the Topologically Enhanced Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Network (TEST-GCN), a novel graph convolution model for road traffic speed forecasting based on floating car data, aiming to better capture the spatial dependencies in the data by fully exploiting the characteristics of the road network. We introduce the node and edge embedding layers, using topological attributes to iteratively improve the latent feature representation of the road network. We show that our model effectively captures both spatial and temporal dependencies in the data, consistently outperforming state-of-the-art methods in road traffic speed prediction, achieving approximately 50 % reduction in model size and 33% improvement in empirical computational times.

The dyes were synthesized using substituted aryl amines and substituted amino hydroxy sulfonic acid as diazo and coupling components, respectively. The antimicrobial activity was explored by Agar-Well Diffusion method using 100 mg/ml dye concentration. The results demonstrated that the dyes possess varying degrees of activities against the bacterial strains tested and the structure of the dye molecules was found to have considerable influence on their antimicrobial activity.

Such organo-metallic frameworks (OMFs) function as a potential material for practical application. Even though these particular organo-metallic frameworks are in the early developmental stage but considerable advancements have been carried out recently. We studied the characterization of zirconium-based organo-metallic frameworks. We built Zr-based OMFs by four different synthetic ways. Initially, upgraded preparation under green and commercially feasible conditions has been carried out by modifying Zr-OMFs. Zirconium based OMFs having different structures are then classified and explained based on various organic ligands and zirconium-based secondary building units. We have synthesized the zirconium metal complexes; they have been characterized on the bases of FT-IR and CHNS analyzer. FT-IR results show binding of metal with th...

This greatly affects the daily routines of the people. Not to mention the time that is wasted while a person feels stranded in such situation and it results in the loss of productivity, also deteriorates the societal behavior to a certain extent and have adverse effects on the economy. The natural calamities add to the miseries. It becomes very difficult to manage the traffic flow in situations when there are flash floods or other accidents. Therefore the trend of the traffic seems very unpredictable. The real-time information and the past data are deemed as the significant inputs for the predictive analysis. Modern day researchers perform the predictive analysis using the simulations as it does not seems to have any accurate and exact predictive model, mainly because of the higher ...

The tool utilises a graphical user interface (GUI) and a catalogue of components (cables, transformers, converters, platforms) to design an offshore wind farm and create the corresponding network model. A set of calculations that includes load flow, cable sizing inspection, reactive power compensation, reliability evaluation and evaluation of capital costs is carried out for the purposes of a comprehensive cost benefit analysis. The software tool enables quick and effortless analysis of a number of different offshore wind farm designs. It can be used to optimise the interconnection between wind farms to accommodate requirements for reliability and economic efficiency.

They fail to route messages in a highly dynamic and disrupted network. From the beginning of last decade, delay-tolerant routing protocols have been developed and deployed for challenged areas and applications. These routing protocols are able to route messages in a challenged network environment that is either highly mobile or static with sparse population. In this paper, we have described a simulator - DTNRSIM - to evaluate various routing protocols designed for delay-tolerant networks. The simulator is written in Java and is usable on Windows platform.
