The study employed ARDL from 1971 to 2021. Results show financial development, energy use, gross fixed capital formation and inflation are highly significant with economic growth, while trade openness is insignificant. On behalf of results, it is suggested that policymakers devise ways to improve credit allocation and regulatory and institutional frameworks to enable the financial industry to impact economic growth and positively boost the sector's efficiency. Conclusions drawn from the preceding suggest that policymakers should implement measures that promote sustainable economic growth and efficient energy consumption.

Objectives: To determine the frequency and diversity of the cases reported at Oncology care clinic of Holy Family Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was done to ascertain the frequency and diversity of cases that were reported to Oncology care clinic of Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Rawalpindi during August 2022. The data were collected by reviewing the hospital records of the patients. Data was analysed by SPSS version 25.0 and Microsoft Excel 2010. Percentage and frequency of all variables were computed. Statistical difference in mean age of male and females was determined by independent sample t-test. P < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Mean age of the total 23 cases reporting to Oncology clinic of HFH during August 2022 was 49.91 ± 15.12 years. There were 14(61%) females a...

In this research Structure Equation Modeling with confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the relationship between two independent and five dependent variables. Data was collected through questionnaire survey from 152 Public Servants Working in Gujrat District-Pakistan in different capacities. Stratified Random Sampling Technique was used to conduct this survey. The results of the study indicate that five factors of OCB have positive significant relation with both motivation and job satisfaction except the relationship of Civic Virtue with Motivation. The research findings implicate that factors other than motivation and job satisfaction may also affect OCB. Likewise, all the five factors of OCB may not be present in all ...

Extensive use of antibiotics for humans and livestock has led to an enhanced level of antibiotic ... more Extensive use of antibiotics for humans and livestock has led to an enhanced level of antibiotic resistance in the environment. Municipal wastewater treatment plants are regarded as one of the main sources of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in the aquatic environment. A significant amount of research has been carried out to understand the microbiological quality of wastewater with respect to its antibiotic resistance potential over the past several years. UV disinfection has primarily been used to achieve disinfection, including damaging DNA, but there has been an increasing use of chlorine and H2O2-based AOPs for targeting genes, including ARGs, considering the higher energy demands related to the greater UV fluences needed to achieve efficient DNA damage. This review focuses on some of the most investigated processes, including UV photolysis and chlorine in both individual and combined approaches and UV advanced oxidation processes (AOPs)...

Lockdown measures against the virus may impact negatively on immunization services. This study aimed to ascertain the capacity of primary health care centres in Kaduna North senatorial district to provide routine immunization services amidst a state-wide lockdown. Methods: Cluster sampling was used to select four among eight local Government areas in the district. Facility in-charges and RI focal persons were interviewed using service availability and readiness assessment tool, restricted to immunization tracer items. Paired sample t-test was used to compare the mean number of vaccine doses given in the first quarter of 2020 (pre-lockdown) and the number of doses given in the second quarter (lockdown period). Results: Forty four PHCs were selected from Zaria (29.6%), Sabon Gari (25.0%), Makarfi (22.7%) and Kudan (22.7%). In addition to well-trained RI...

These conditions causes soil water defi cit, especially in dry season. To increase the successful of sand tailings revegetation with rubber tree, it is important to select some rubber tree clones based on their adaptability on the sand tailings conditions, especially drought stress. This research aimed to study the response of several rubber tree clones to the frequency of watering on sand tailings. The experiment was conducted in a plastic house at the experimental station of Agrotechnology Study Program of Bangka Belitung University, Sungailiat for 4 months. The experimental design was a factorial randomized block design with two factors and three replications. The fi rst factor was the frequency of watering (every day, every 3 days, and every 5 days), the second factor was a combination of recommended rootstock clones and recommended latex clones ...
Background Low plant density and wide intra-plant spacing in traditional cowpea cropping systems ... more Background Low plant density and wide intra-plant spacing in traditional cowpea cropping systems are among the factors responsible for low yield on farmers’ fields. Sole cropping and improved intercropping systems have been advocated in the last few years to increase yield in the dry savannah areas of Nigeria. This study investigated the level of adoption of high yielding cowpea cropping systems including factors that influenced their use and farmers’ perceived production constraints and preferences. A total of 420 farmers across 36 villages of northern Nigeria were interviewed, and data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics to appraise farmers predominant cowpea cropping systems and factors that determine the use of sole versus intercropping were identified with the aid of binary logit regression. Furthermore, pairwise comparison ranking was deployed to understand farmers’ view of cowpea production constraints and preferred traits. Results The results revealed that, m...

In this regard, physiological responses of four sunflower genotypes i.e. Hysun-33, Hysun-39 (known moderately salt tolerant) S.28111 and SF0049 (unreported genotypes) growing in soil filled pots and hydroponics were observed. This study was carried out under greenhouse condition in complete randomize design. plants were treated with 75, 125 and 175 mM NaCl concentrations. Stress was applied to the plants in aliquot levels 30 DAS and plants were harvested 44 DAS for further analysis. Some photosynthetic traits; chlorophyll fluorescence, chlorophyll contents, stomatal conductance and relative water content were analysed. Plants grown in a pot experiment had higher PIabs, stomatal conductance, photosynthetic pigments and hence higher plant fresh weight as compared to hydroponic plants. Despite differences in techn...

Physiological mechanisms explaining plant tolerance offer valuable insights for the development of genetically modified crops. Plant water status and alteration in photosynthetic capacity are some common physiological depictions which are induced by abiotic stress like drought and salinity. Chiefly it is because both stresses caused cellular dehydration in the plants, predominantly, during the initial phase of stress imposition. In water stress CO2 availability is greatly reduced due to stomatal limitation; subsequently leaf temperature is elevated. So that studies on plant water status and stomatal regulation are important aspects in abiotic stress environment stabilizing the temperature inside plant/leaf. Therefore phenotyping using infrared thermography (heat sensitive sensor) could be a useful tool in the selection of tolerant genotypes. Generally infrared thermogr...

Mixed model analysis was done to adequately capture the variance component as a result of genotype (G), environment (E) and G × E interaction (GEI).Result: Highly significant (p <0.001) effects for G and GEI on ELS and pod weight were observed. The parametric and non-parametric stability models ranked the genotype differently for their stability to ELS. The GGE biplot identified ICG 1519 as a stable genotype for the ELS resistance. For pod weight, ICG 8896 and ICG 7897 were consistently stable from all the stability models including the GGE biplot. ICG 9449 and ICG 4540 were identified as stable genotypes for both...
