This article focuses on the requirements of digitalization for the service sector by explaining its ability to redesign processes and boost productivity for organizations and their users. This article includes the international experiences of e-governance, focusing on examples from Sri Lanka, and highlights areas for improvement in terms of "ecosystem of services" model. Additionally, it examines the role of digital platforms in transforming government-citizen interactions and promoting transparency. The research methodology involves semi-structured interviews with Kazakhstan's specialists and entrepreneurs. They share their views on digitalization on the current and potential future prospects in the service sector. The results suggest that there is a positive perception towards digitalization and a focus on its time saving, convenience and transparency enhancing properties. Nevertheless, issues like digital divide and cybercrime are recognized, calling for not only comfortable but also secure digital solutions. In conclusion, the study spotlights the transformative power of digitalization in the services sector which brings with it challenges that require collective efforts to overcome and fully realize its benefits. Concluding, it encourages for more studies on cybersecurity measures and digital literacy programs to ensure that all the demographics have equal access to digital services.
