Dr. Ndudi Bowei is a Project Manager of a non-profit organization- in Lagos, Nigeria. She holds a Ph.D. and MPhil in Management, specializing in Leadership and Organizational Change. Dr. Bowei also has a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in law with training in Human Rights & Conflict Management (Institute for Human Rights & Development in Africa, the Gambia & Centre for Conflict Resolution, South Africa), Project Identification, Development & Management (Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands), International Women’s Health & Human Rights (Stanford University, USA) and Gender Responsive Governance (The Hague Academy for Local Governance, Netherlands).
She worked for seven years as a civil litigation counsel before veering into social development and human rights advocacy in 2001. Her strong expertise is in non-profit management, project implementation and management, proposal development, fundraising, and grant administration, women empowerment, facilitating training programs, strategic human rights advocacy and litigation, policy development, research and fact-finding missions, documentation, and publication. She is also experienced in health and environmental programs, engaging corporate actors, government officials, and external partners, building and maintaining strategic partnerships, coordinating and supervising staff, coaching, training and mentoring youths, girls and women.
She is an agent of positive social change who is passionate about justice and fairness.

The impact of human reactions, social changes, economic principles and patent policies on HIV/AID... more The impact of human reactions, social changes, economic principles and patent policies on HIV/AIDS has certain human rights implications for people living with the virus. These concerns have led to series of initiatives by international human rights bodies and translated into statements and instruments on HIV/AIDS. The central theme of these instruments is that there ought to be a minimal standard of decent and acceptable social and governmental practice regarding HIV/AIDS that must respect international human rights law. This paper outlines issues relating to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the provisions of a human rights perspective on the requirements for intellectual property, and explores the tension between granting patent protection under the Agreement on the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (the “TRIPS Agreement”), and access to antiretroviral medicines at affordable prices to developing countries, for treatment of HIV/AIDS.
The concluding section of this paper includes recommendations for the provisions of the African Charter regarding health and property rights.

Certain issues are increasingly becoming current topics in modern day management as determining f... more Certain issues are increasingly becoming current topics in modern day management as determining factors for ultimate success in business. With references from peer reviewed journals drawn from the Walden university library, which are based on recent studies of a variety of corporate management cases, this paper argues that transparency and innovation and gender diversity are outstanding amongst the current issues in management. This analysis is based on the understanding that transparency is about openness which encourages idea generation that results in innovation, and gender diversity encourages a pool of ideas generated from diverse individuals that leads to business growth. In conclusion I described how these issues are the keys to a successful and sustainable business management predicated on their importance to organizations, their implication to management and finally, their relationship to positive social change.

The human resources needed obviously interact with management and leadership through relationships built on philosophies and principles, operationalized through policies and practices, which critically impact performance and success. The purpose of this discussion is to explore the author’s personal human resource philosophy for managing people and personal beliefs of the employee-management relationship. It also considers how to build systems, create a culture, and implement practices to operationalize the philosophy. The discussion is outlined in three segments detailing the author’s human resource philosophy in the first segment, the basis for personal beliefs of employee-organization relationship in the second, and operationalization of the philosophy in the third segment.

Human beings have long been thought of as masters of the natural world with a drive to dominate a... more Human beings have long been thought of as masters of the natural world with a drive to dominate and control. This drive to dominate and control typically seen as a mark of manhood is viewed as having dangerous consequences for nature, women, children, and other living things. Historically, activities of the early days, which gave rise to our present modern industrial society, were very much a masculine enterprise right from the start, filled with clear images of the all-powerful male mind conquering a female Nature. This victory of male dominance over the female nature has extended into dominance, manipulation and oppression of nature and its environment as well. Just as women are viewed as being there to serve men's needs, nature is seen as existing for " man " to exploit at will. Within this reasoning, men often use and abuse women, children, peasant and tribal peoples, nature and the environment itself, for their own short-term selfish interest and advancement. This has led to the devastation of the natural environment and the further oppression of those who live most closely with it. Due to the fact that this situation of violence and exploitation is becoming a threat to life on earth, various studies, thoughts and movements have emerged to find the root of the problem and accurate diagnosis of their causes with a view to proffering theories to deal with them. This paper seeks to examine and analyze one or more of these studies or schools of thought known as feminism, ecology and ecofeminism in other to determine if they indeed do have adequate diagnosis of the world earth and environmental problems of degradation in relation to the activities of men and women, and solutions that may seem appropriate.
