Reminiscence and conversation between older adults and younger volunteers using past photographs ... more Reminiscence and conversation between older adults and younger volunteers using past photographs are very effective in improving the emotional state of older adults and alleviating depression. However, we need to evaluate the emotional state of the older adult while conversing on the past photographs. While electroencephalogram (EEG) has a significantly stronger association with emotion than other physiological signals, the challenge is to eliminate muscle artifacts in the EEG during speech as well as to reduce the number of dry electrodes to improve user comfort while maintaining high emotion recognition accuracy. Therefore, we proposed the CTA-CNN-Bi-LSTM emotion recognition framework. EEG signals of eight channels (P3, P4, F3, F4, F7, F8, T7, and T8) were first implemented in the MEMD-CCA method on three brain regions separately (Frontal, Temporal, Parietal) to remove the muscle artifacts then were fed into the Channel-Temporal attention module to get the weights of channels and ...

In-depth interviews, co-design and prototype testing sessions were carried out with 16 cardiologists to investigate the context surrounding AF treatment, evaluate different explainable AI strategies and better understand how explainable AI could be designed and used to support AF post-treatment. Through the design process, we learnt key lessons such as the pitfalls of over-justification and how augmenting machine explanations with data sources that allow for self-interpretation could enhance perceived control over the decision making process and increase user acceptance in the system.

One of the major causes for this is that there are strict kimono rules. Among the established rules for a kimono we need, first of all, to choose one that is appropriate for the occasion.. Additionally, such things as the “season,” “texture of the material” and “color” must also be considered. Still further, it is necessary to pair a kimono with a suitable obi (sash). At present, when kimonos are no longer worn on a daily basis, it is difficult to determine what constitutes a “suitable kimono.” Together with complex rules, it is difficult to choose a kimono and obi. In this research, we first surveyed the thinking of consumers about kimonos in order to clarify why they no longer wear kimonos. A further objective was to have experts in “kimono wearing” clarify their thought process when selecting a suitable kimono.

Specifically we give task to participants, which is to look north shown in each cardinal direction. In addition we were measuring the eye movement of until the reaction time for each cardinal direction. As a result, In the case of reaction time, the RTs increased with increasing design elements and number of bearing. In addition, the only one point (N) cardinal direction is faster than eight cardinal directions. The eye movement case of, our results demonstrate eye is fixed on the corner of the shape, character part, crossover point. Only the letter North (N) eye movement is simple, but if there were four pointers indicating four directions, the fixation point is round and round traveling around. So, understandability cardinal direction is small in range for gaze. From this fact, when checking the cardinal direction clarity was confirmed differ by the presence or absence of chara...
