In these challenging times nursing students, facing academic and psychological issues, are advised to use augmented reality applications in the field of health sciences for increasing their motivations and academic performances. The main motive of the study was to examine the acceptance status of nursing students in implementing augmented reality technology in their education and training. The study is a quantitative research study, and it uses the causal-comparative screening method. The data used in the study was collected online from 419 nursing students. The hybrid method was preferred. First, the hypotheses based on the linear relationships were defined between the variables which were then tested by the method of structural equation modeling. Second, the method of artificial neural networks was used to determine the non-linear relationships between the variables. The results show that the nursing student...

T... more The study is a quantitative research study and it uses the causal-comparative screening method. The data used in the study was collected online from 419 nursing students. The study's conceptual framework is based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model developed by Venkatesh and his colleagues (2003) adopted in the research model design. UTAUT is a model for examining both behavioral intention (BI) and user behavior (UB) towards information technology (Venkatesh, James, & Xu, 2012). The UTAUT model, including both BI and UB, was preferred since the students gained experience as AR users. The research model includes performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), facilitating conditions (FC), social influence (SI), perceived value (PV), and anxiety (A) as constructs affecting the behavioral intention (BI); the factors affecting use behavior (UB) include behavioral intention (BI), usefulness (U) and hedonic motivation (HM), the core relationshi...

Aging process is the process in which all the organisms go through changes from birth to death and varies depending on individuals. Agedness is the last phase of the aging process. Although agedness, which is defined as “decrease of the ability to adapt to environmental factors” by the World Health Organization (WHO), is deemed as the end of 64 and the beginning of 65 years, a new classification was made by the WHO in August 2017 stating that agedness signifies 80-99 years. This 4 point likert scale became 30-items and 10 subscales. This scale was developed in English language therefore we used translation and back translation then reviewed by an expert for examined content validity. FaB-T’psycohometric characters analyses examined via items total score correlation, Pearson correlation analyses, Cronbach Alpha value,, test-retest correlation and confi rmatory factor analyses methods. Results: Participants’descriptive characteristics was found like this; avarage of age 68.72±7.31, 51,6% female, 46,7 % primary school graduate, 92,8% have health insurance. Fall ratio was found 37,8% in the recent year. Content Validity Index=.94, Cronbach Alpha value α=.90, items total score correlation found between r=.23-.70 (p=.01). Two weeks test-retest correlation found r=.96. Confi rmatory factor analyses results found same as original. Conclusion: This study showed that Turkish Version of Fall Behavioral Scale (FAB) was reliable and valid tool to determined to identify the older person’s awareness of and practice of behaviours that could potentially protect against falling. We suggest to using of this tool on different elderly groups.

Design and Methods: A cross-sectional research data collected face-to-face from 65 year and older 669 elderlies live in Alanya with ≥ 25 SMMSE score. Findings: MNA showed that 60.9% of men and 50.1% of women had normal nutritional status. Nutritional habits, physical activities, existing chronic diseases and medications of the elderly may affect their hedonic which increase the consumption quantity and tendency to delicious food with high fat, sugar and energy, and excite chronic diseases. Practice Implications: Nurses who detect malnutrition in the elderly need to refer the elderly to the relevant physician and dietitian in order to investigate the risk factors and take the necessary precautions, and they must exhibit a multidisciplinary solution approach. In the 8th Diabetes Atlas of IDF, it was determined that the diabetes prevalence of Turkey between the ages of 20–79 in 2017 was 12.8 %, IGT was 7.4 %, and diabetes health expenditures were 5.445 million dollars. This study aimed to determine the learning needs and the factors affecting the need for discharge training in patients with stroke. Materials and methods. This is a descriptive and cross-sectional study with 109 patients consisting the study sample. The study population consisted of stroke patients who were hospitalized in the Neurology Department of a university hospital between April 15 and September 15, 2018. The data were obtained using the Introductory Information Form and and the Turkish version of the “Patient Learning Needs Scale (PLNS)” by the researchers. Analysis of the data can be accessed from the computer. Results. The mean total PLNS score was 200.43 ± 34.77 (204). The drugs sub-dimension had a high importance level in the sub-dimension mean score...

Aim: To investigate the impact of controlled social life which began with COVID-19 pandemic on fall situation of individuals aged 65 years and over living in the society. It is very important to determine fall risk of the elderly, take necessary protective measures, and plan and develop fall prevention programs. Materials and methods: Convenience sampling was used in the study. The data were collected using a descriptive form and the Morse Fall Scale. To evaluate the data, descriptive and comparative statistical methods were used. Results: The results showed that as age increases, individuals aged 65 years and over have higher risk of fall. Furthermore, a significant correlation was found between fall of the elderly and the presence of chronic disease and experiences of fall in the previous year. Conclusion: The findings from the study can be a good source for students and academics in the field of health and education, and employees involved in the protection and promotion of health.

With this study, traditional care practices used by the mothers with 0-12 month old babies were evaluated. Materials and methods: This study was a descriptive study executed in 5 family health centers of different villages of Beykoz district of Istanbul, Turkey; in order to define the traditional methods used by the mothers for care of their babies aged 0-12 months. A data collection tool, composed of 12 questions on socio-demographic features of participants and "Data Collection Form for 0-12-monthold Baby Care" form containing 31 items, was used. Results: Most of the mothers (42.2%, n=43) were in the age of group of 26-30, were high school graduates (41.8%) and housewives (92.0%). The majority of the participants (46.2%) did not receive any education on baby care prior to this study, and 27.9% of them received knowledge from elders of family. A great fraction of mothers stated that they feed their babies only with breast milk for the first 6 months (95.2%), however 51% of them swaddle their babies. Conclusion: Despite the rising trend of usage of modern methods, traditional practices of baby care are still in use. Knowing traditional practices on baby care is important for nurses and midwives in order to prevent harmful practices on baby care.
