The first research objective was to investigate the consideration of companies of OSH in their medium to long term planning processes. The second research question then looked at the availability and use of OSH Systems and Policies in these companies. Third research question investigated that commitment of company members (managers and workers) on OSH implementation and monitoring and evaluation. The fourth research question investigated the overall effect of these three dimensions of OSH on companies achievement of the SDGs by 2030. Structured questionnaire was used to gather data and descriptive statistics was used to analyse the results. A sample size of 275 respondents participated in the study. The results revealed that respondents gave very low ratings o (26%) to companies’ consideration of OSH in their long term planning, 68% to the availability of the relevant OSH policies and systems, and 23.8 to commitment of company members to the implementation and enforcement of OSH practices at the workplace. In all, a score 39.3 was assessed for companies effectiveness in OSH practices, thus falling below the benchmark of 60% for the achievement of the SDGs. This study recommends companies to take a holistic approach of planning, provision of relevant policies and systems and the combined commitment of all stakeholders to achieve effective OSH practices at the workplace for achieving the SDTs as scheduled.

The data for the study was collected from (10) private universities that are located in the Greater Accra in Greater Accra Region of Ghana. To have a representation of students at different stages in their studies at each of the private universities sampled a convenience sampling is used. A total of 30 classes with varying sizes provided a total of 400 respondents. These classes served as for the administration of the questionnaire. Using Ordinary Least-Squares regression it was found that brand awareness and brand association are significantly related to the performance of private universities. However, brand loyalty and perceived quality are not significantly related to performance of private universities.
