Pete Richardson
Pete is an international economist with a professional career spanning over 40 years at the OECD Economics Department in Paris and in the UK Government Economic Service.
He is experienced in quantitative economic research and policy studies, forecasting, modelling and statistical data systems and with extensive experience of managing multi-cultural teams of economists, statisticians, and IT specialists in support of economic forecasting and research studies.
Pete currently works as an independent consultant and researcher in the area of economic policy, modelling and statistical systems. He is also Senior Associate at Llewellyn Consulting LLP, where he is involved in research studies, including a recent study of DB pensions and the market valuation companies. He is also a member of the GLG consultancy council.
At the OECD Pete was Division Head in the Economics Department for 25 years, responsible for international trade, short to long-term global economic assessment, macro-structural research, model building, econometrics and data systems management. He also represented the OECD in a variety of international discussion groups (OECD, IMF, EU Commission, UNDP/LINK, ADB, ESRI Japan, World Bank, Brookings and CEPR). Pete also played an active role in the recruitment, management and training of professional economists and statisticians.
In the UK, Pete was previously a member of H.M. Treasury's policy analysis and forecasting team and prior to that lead economist on international trade, macroeconomics and UK industrial policy issues at the UK Departments of Trade and Industry.
Pete's published works include empirical studies of trade and globalization, inflation and unemployment, economic growth potential, short and medium-term fiscal analysis, macroeconomic forecasting and modelling.
Pete is fluent in English and French. He is a keen angler, guitarist and soccer fan (PSG and West Ham).
