This study therefore aimed at highlighting the effect of the wide use of these practices on the structural and ecological parameters of the woody flora in agroforestry parklands. To this end, an inventory of ligneous vegetation was carried out on radial transects in an East–West and North–South direction in the villages clusters of Dan Saga and Tabofatt in Niger Republic. A variance comparison test was applied on the values from plots with practice compare to those from plots without practice (controls). In Dan Saga site, the results obtained show the significant effect of the practice of assisted natural tree regeneration on the density of trees (97 against 58 plants/ha for the control plots), on the basal area (3.04 against 1.98 m2/ha for the control plots), on regeneration (61.96% against 40.91% for the controls) and on floristic diversity (...

The methodology used is based on a socioeconomic survey coupled with an inventory of woody vegetation in agroforestry parks in two villages’ clusters: Dan Saga and Tabofatt. Ethnobotanical analysis tools and allometric equations are applied on the data collected. These led to three main results. First, a total of 43 and 34 species registered are used in six (6) usages, such as food, forage, technological, energetic, and medicinal uses respectively both in Dan Saga and Tabofatt cluster. Second, the two landscapes contain a remarkable specific flora diversity which contributes not only to soil fertility but also to sequester 6.04±0.236 and 4.5 9±0.568 tCO2.ha-1 respectively at Dan Saga and Tabofatt. And thirdly in the landscapes of two clusters the amount of woody species inventoried, meets the amount of social u...

This study focused on optimizing this multiplication. To do this, two types of matrix were used, in particular soil and water. Cuttings were taken from oleander plants and the apical, middle and basal parts of the stems were cultured in water and soil. The results showed that after 3 weeks the cuttings, thus installed, constitute the seat of the formation of the roots and the new-formation of the buds. The characteristics of these cuttings were established with cuttings from plantations obtained by artificial regeneration. Thus, on a stem twig, we distinguished basal, middle and apical cuttings. Recovery time varies from one category of cuttings to another, but the highest recovery rate (86.7%) was obtained with middle cuttings. The results obtained are of paramount importance in the success of the rapid multiplication of this ornamental species highly ...

Indeed, a survey was carried out in Dan Saga and Tabofatt two villages’ clusters in order to identify the driver factors which explain the high adoption of best land management practices in these areas. The data were collected from 200 farmers (100 from each cluster), randomly chosen. The survey addressed the likelihood of farmer to use agroforestry practices and or erosion control practices, on the basis of four socioeconomics variables: the educational level of farmer (Instr), the distance between their farm and habitation (Prox), the possession of Harnessed Cultivation Unit (HCU) and the land tenure status (Land). Data were subjected to an analysis by statistical modeling of logistic regression. The results show that agroforestry technology is predominated in Dan Saga cluster (90% of citation for agrof...
