This study examines PMS removal on employee wellbeing in public sector. Two research questions we... more This study examines PMS removal on employee wellbeing in public sector. Two research questions were subjected to test and Neo-liberalism theory was used to backup the argument of the study. The first focus on the implication of PMS removal on employee wellbeing while second explores the solution to manage the implication of PMS removal on employee wellbeing. Data was obtained from civil servants in Lagos State through an online interview and this data was analysed using descriptive statistics and narrative method and the outcome of the data revealed that PMS removal has implication on employee wellbeing as it exposes employees to physical, emotional, and psychological stress, which causes some form of imbalance. The removal of PMS has increased the cost of living, fostered inflation, devalued the naira, and led to a hike in the price of other essential commodities (foodstuffs). This has made it difficult for workers to feed themselves, their families, and also transport themselves to work and the solution to manage this situation is for government put in place price control policies, increases public servant salaries, implements economic relief programs, encourages investment and empowerment of youths, effectively utilize subsidy funds, restore subsidies, diversify the economy, provide good road and amenities and subsidize transportation to foster employee wellbeing in the workplace.
