From an individual perspective, the testimonies of the professionals who occupy the places in the... more From an individual perspective, the testimonies of the professionals who occupy the places in the first line of care, directly assist patients with COVID-19, caused by infection with a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), are collected. . They are nurses, kinesiologists, doctors, or those who provide support for daily work, administrative, technical. It focuses on workers who care for patients requiring hospitalization, with varying degrees of severity. The description of the experience, although it refers to an individual experience, can be extrapolated to all the professionals who carry out similar tasks. Each interviewee gives an account of her fears, expectations, affections, feelings, her work, and how she sees the future.
The present case report is about the development of a eschizophreniform psychosis after epilepsy ... more The present case report is about the development of a eschizophreniform psychosis after epilepsy surgery (anterior temporal lobectomy). This adverse event was the novo, in a patient without a history of previous psychosis. This case have been studied pre and post-surgery, and have been used the DSM IV diagnosis criteria. The patient developed a subacute alucinatory-delusion syndrome, while seizures disappeared. This inverse relationship is an example of alternative psychosis or forced normalization after surgery treatment. This clinic example may us think about the controversial relationship between temporal epilepsy and psychosis.

Currently, several contemporary researchers have found an increased frequency of psychosis in epilepsy, and identified risk factors related to the severity of epilepsy.In this review, we describe the main epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic issues, implicated in epileptic psychosis.
Although at present we have over 20 different types of drugs for epilepsy, 30 to 40% of patients ... more Although at present we have over 20 different types of drugs for epilepsy, 30 to 40% of patients continue to have seizures. Preliminary data from human studies suggest that cannabis, cannabidiol in particular, is effective in the treatment of some patients with epilepsy. However, the available data are limited and do not allow defnitive conclusions. Only randomized clinical trials with controlled double-blind, placebo-controlled utilizing secure preparations and one or more cannabinoids, will provide comprehensive information on the effcacy and safety of use. In order to perform these trials it is necessary to have legislation authorizing the use of cannabis on epilepsy.
