ABSTRACT
This study focuses on two substantial works on the art of Ancient Greek tragedy, namely "Poetics" (335 BC), in which Aristotle conveyed material information about the art of tragedy, and "The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music" (1872), in which Nietzsche regarded certain elements of art as a touchstone for his philosophy. These two important works written on tragedy are considered as prominent sourcebooks that shed light on the roots of art, and therefore these two philosophers face off in a study on the art of tragedy. This study aims to unfold the Nietzschean argument that tragedy is claimed to be dead. In line with this purpose, firstly, the art of tragedy was addressed from mythos with its ancient roots to the logos where philosophical discourses emerged, with the values attributed by Nietzsche and Aristotle, without being detached from its own historicity. Then, together with its causes and consequences, what Nietzsche meant with his argument on the death of tragedy was investigated, and the findings obtained were interpreted.

basic subjects of philosophy since Ancient Greece. The studies on the investigation of what is beautiful
started in Antiquity; however, they were handled systematically together with Kant's Critique of
Judgement. Philosophers interested in aesthetics prior to Schopenhauer dealt with the art of music
consistently within their own systems, without the need for a separate philosophy of music. The views of
these philosophers can be considered as a foundation in this field as the first studies of the literature of
the music philosophy.
This study will explore how Schopenhauer's thoughts about music were influenced by the
philosophers before his time, his criticisms towards them and the role of his relevant claims in the
philosophy of music. In addition, the study will also focus on whether Schopenhauer's views on music
are likely to be called a music philosophy.

In his work " Rabelais and His World " , Bakhtin argues that the tradition of " degradation " , presented in carnivalesque and grotesque aspects, has an important place in the medieval folk culture. Introducing the concept of " degradation " in philosophy from political, social and cultural data, Bakhtin himself does not approach this concept from the perspective of aesthetics or philosophy of art. The aim of this study is to investigate the principles of the concept of "degradation" put forth by Bakhtin in his work "Rabelais and His World" and to establish a bond with art. However, based on the meaning attributed to this concept by Bakhtin as one of the functions of art, one of the aims of this study is to establish relations between degradation and Immanuel Kant and Ar-thur Danto's senses of aesthetics and art.

His philosophy of phenomenology guided important philosophers who came after him, such as Heidegger, Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Husserl thinks that western science and philosophy are in a great depression. The source of this depression is the disconnection of the human from the life-world and the complete conceivability of his face. Phenomenology, which is more accepted as a method, determines the world of phenomena it takes its name as a field of study, while suggesting a cautious way in the relationship between the scientific knowledge revealed by the mind and this world. Husserl makes an important critique in his article Crisis of European Sciences2 (1936), which he considers as an introduction to phenomenology rather than laying out his basic principles. According to this criticism, Western civilization is experiencing a major cultural crisis as a result of its crisis in the field of science and philosophy. As a result, he is alienated from his own world of life. Husserl's anxiety makes the orientation and modernity of music questionable today. This study focuses on Husserl's article Crisis of European Sciences. In this context, husserl's basic arguments as a crisis of Western science were examined and the findings were collected under topics considered important without interpretation. However, the main purpose of this study is to adapt husserl's arguments about a civilization crisis to today's music life. The result should not be considered as whether there is a crisis or not, nor as looking for solutions for a possible crisis. Therefore, the aim is to take the crisis situation in western sciences, which Husserl foresees, as a reference to today's music life and to discuss it. Bu çalışma Husserl’in Avrupa Bilimlerinin Krizi adlı çalışması üzerine odaklanmıştır. Husserl’in Batı biliminin krizi olarak ortaya koyduğu temel argümanlar incelenmiş, elde edilen bulgular yorumlanmadan önemli görülen başlıklar altında toplanmıştır. KANT’S AESTHETICS AND MODERN CRITICIM
As the spirit of the modern age made itself evident, especially with the aesthetics of
Baumgarten (1750), a new philosophy of aesthetics emerged as the science of sense. However,
it is only with Kant that the understanding of modern aesthetics manifested itself by the
presence of a subject that both feels and thinks about it. Because the modern-day philosophers
who succeeded Kant could not go beyond ensuring the continuity of his thoughts together with
the points they agreed upon or criticized. This is because Kant is a great system philosopher,
just like Aristotle. It is possible to comprehend the philosophers who built such large systems
by addressing the thoughts that come before and after them as a whole. Hence, Kant's
philosophy and aesthetics will gain coherence in light of the argument that they have laid the
foundations of modern philosophy, and the criticisms directed towards him will be understood
more thoroughly. Thus, the question of why the critique of Kant’s aesthetics is so important
will not remain in suspense.
In this study, the problems of aesthetics and art philosophy that emerged as a result of
modern philosophy were analyzed along with the criticisms towards Kant’s aesthetics. The
position that the philosophers who criticize Kant take in the face of transcendental aesthetics
forms the basic structure of these criticisms. Looking at today's philosophy of art and aesthetics,
the aesthetic doctrines that modern philosophers have set systematically draw attention, and
this historical accumulation appears to be based on Kant's system. Considering all this, the main
problem of this study is; modern philosophers claim that they have built modern aesthetics in
light of their criticism towards Kant.
In line with this basic argument, the fact that Hegel and Croce see the philosophy of art
as the product of spirit in their criticisms, Nietzsche's critical destructiveness, a new dimension
introduced by Hartmann to the subject-object relationship, and the fact that Gadamer's criticism
focuses on the traces of a cultural (Bildung) texture constitute the main problems of the critique
of Kant's aesthetics.
çalışma; modern filozofların Kant’a yönelttikleri eleştiriler minvalinde, modern estetiği inşa
ettikleri iddiasını taşımaktadır.
Bu temel argüman doğrultusunda; Hegel’in ve Croce’nin eleştirilerinde, sanat
felsefesini tinin ürünü olarak görmeleri, Nietzsche’nin eleştirel yıkıcılığı, Hartmann’ın öznenesne
ilişkisine yeni bir boyut kazandırması, Gadamer’in eleştirilerinde ise kültürel (bildung)
bir dokunun izlerinin üzerinde durması, Kant estetiğine yöneltilen eleştirilerin temel
problemlerini oluşturmaktadır.

Bu temel argüman doğrultusunda; Hegel’in ve Croce’nin eleştirilerinde, sanat
felsefesini tinin ürünü olarak görmeleri, Nietzsche’nin eleştirel yıkıcılığı, Hartmann’ın öznenesne
ilişkisine yeni bir boyut kazandırması, Gadamer’in eleştirilerinde ise kültürel (bildung)
bir dokunun izlerinin üzerinde durması, Kant estetiğine yöneltilen eleştirilerin temel
problemlerini oluşturmaktadır.
consistently, considering the general philosophy of criticism. The role of the
transcendental subject, in theoretical philosophy, therefore, serves the same
function in aesthetic and moral philosophies. In this context, it is of necessity
to consider the transcendental object while studying Kant’s philosophy. However, approaching the philosophy of music through the transcendental subject
necessitates a focus on Kant's third critique, The Critique of Judgement But it also requires the preliminary acceptance that the third criticism is not separated
from the first two critics as Kant’s philosophy of criticism should be evaluated
together. This study aims to focus on some ideas that Kant put forward in The
Critique of Judgement within the context of a philosophy of music and to examine the consistency of these findings with the philosophy of criticism on the
transcendental subject. In this regard, as a result of the research, Kant's contributions to the field of philosophy of music have been evaluated.
Keywords: Kant esthetics, philosophy of music, transcendental subject, philosophy of criticism, taste.Öz: Kant’ın estetik felsefesi, eleştiri felsefesinin geneli düşünüldüğünde tutarlı

In addition, the study will also focus on whether Schopenhauer's views on music
are likely to be called a music philosophy.
ileri geçememiştir2. Bunun aksine Plotinos’un estetik mistisizmi özellikle orta çağ
