However, antimetastatic drugs are not available on the market. One of the important biological events leading to metastasis is the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) induced by cytokines, namely transforming growth-factor-β (TGF-β). Although several classes of inhibitors targeting TGF-β and its receptor have been developed, they have shown profound clinical side effects. We focused on our synthetic compound, HPH-15, which has shown anti-fibrotic activity via the blockade of the TGF-β Smad-dependent signaling. In this study, 10 μM of HPH-15 was found to exhibit anti-cell migration and anti-EMT activities in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. Although higher concentrations are required, the anti-EMT activity of HPH-15 has also been observed in 3D-cultured NSCLC cells. A mechanistic study showed that HPH-15 inhibits downstream TGF-β signaling. This downstream inhibition blocks the expressi...
The inhibition of glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) activity through pharmacological interventi... more The inhibition of glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) activity through pharmacological intervention represents a promising approach for treating challenging neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease. Similarly, abnormal tau aggregate accumulation in neurons is a hallmark of various neurodegenerative diseases. We introduced new dual GSK3β/tau aggregation inhibitors due to the excellent clinical outcome of multitarget drugs. Compound (E)-2f stands out among the synthesized inhibitors as a promising GSK3β inhibitor (IC50 1.7 µM) with a pronounced tau anti-aggregation effect in a cell-based model of tauopathy. Concurrently, (E)-2f was demonstrated to be non-toxic to normal cells, making it a promising neuroprotective lead compound that needs further investigation.

Method:-Comparative analytical study done during the period from March to June 2017 from Faculty of nursing science .A total of 205 healthy young students measured by stratified simple random sampling by toys that had accepted to participate in the study. In all subjects the blood pressure was measured subsequently in two positions: Sitting then supine, with the arm supported at the elbow and the cuff at the heart level. The data was analyzed by (SPSS), and presented in forms of tables and figures. Result:-The blood pressure tended to drop in the setting position compared with the supine. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure was the highest in supine position (120/74 mm/hg) when compared the setting positions (116.2/74.5 mm/hg).SBP reading range from (0-4 mm/Hg) while in DBP was range from (0-0.5 mm/Hg). All blood pressure measurement in supin...

A stage-II left ischial pressure ulcer was also reported. An X-ray of the pelvis revealed bilateral neurogenic heterotopic ossification (NHO) in both hips and knees, which was further confirmed by TC-99m methylene diphosphonate (MDP) bone scintigraphy. Interventions included indomethacin and conservative management. Surgery was not preferred, as NHO was still immature. Moreover, patient transfer and lower body dressing were unaffected by NHO. It is important to consider an early radiological screen in selected high-risk cases for NHO, to minimize the risk of associated complications.

This term refers to the events that led to the death of Jesus (peace be upon him) and his resurrection - as they claim - and to his sufferings (peace be upon him) due to the cruelty of the Jews. It showed the most prominent events that took place in this week, such as his entry (peace be upon him) into Jerusalem, and his dialogue with the Jews. Depending on the texts of the gospels that mentioned the events, it also showed how Christians derived their most important beliefs and rituals from this week such as the belief of crucifixion, resurrection, and the Lord's Supper. The days of this week are the holiest days of the year for Christians. The research also included the most prominent violations of this week from an Islamic perspective such as their belief that Christ (peace be upon him) is the true reviver of the dead because, in their belief, he is God and the Son of God. And they claim that whoever eats the Lord...

One of the most commonly used NSAIDs is diclofenac (Diclo). In this study, cyclodextrins (CDs), -, -, -, and HP--CDs, were investigated with irritation and ulceration models in rabbits to reduce Diclo toxicity. Diclo-, -, -, -, and HP--CD inclusion complexes were prepared and characterized and Diclo-CD complexes were evaluated for corneal permeation, red blood cell (RBCs) haemolysis, corneal opacity/permeability, and toxicity. Guest- (Diclo-) host (CD) solid inclusion complexes were formed only with -, -, and HP--CDs. Amphipathic properties for Diclo were recorded and this surfactant-like functionality might contribute to the unwanted effects of Diclo on the surface of the eye. Contact angle and spreading coefficients were used to assess Diclo-CDs in solution. Reduction of ocular toxicity 3-fold to16-fold and compara...

The discovery of the chimeric tyrosine kinase breakpoint cluster region kinase-Abelson kinase (BC... more The discovery of the chimeric tyrosine kinase breakpoint cluster region kinase-Abelson kinase (BCR-ABL)-targeted drug imatinib conceptually changed the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). However, some CML patients show drug resistance to imatinib. To address this issue, some artificial heterocyclic compounds have been identified as BCR-ABL inhibitors. Here we examined whether plant-derived pentacyclic triterpenoid gypsogenin and/or their derivatives show inhibitory activity against BCR-ABL. Among the three derivatives, benzyl 3-hydroxy-23-oxoolean-12-en-28-oate (1c) was found to be the most effective anticancer agent on the CML cell line K562, with an ICvalue of 9.3 µM. In contrast, the ICagainst normal peripheral blood mononuclear cells was 276.0 µM, showing better selectivity than imatinib. Compound 1c had in vitro inhibitory activity against Abelson kinase 1 (ABL1) (IC=8.7 μM), the kinase component of BCR-ABL. In addition, compound 1c showed a different inhibitory p...

Comprehensive experimental works have been performed in the past but their validation with possible analytical and numerical solutions still requires serious efforts. In this paper, behavior and detection of the Gaussian-modulated sinusoidal guided-wave pulse traveling in an aluminum plate are presented. An analytical solution is derived for sensing guided wave at a given distance from the actuator. This solution can predict the primary wave modes separately. Numerical analysis is also carried out in COMSOL® Multiphysics software. An experimental setup comprising piezoelectric transducers is used for the validation. Comparison of experimental results with those obtained from analytical and numerical solutions shows close agreement.

Using a proper pulse shape compatible with the FCC spectral mask, examples of PSDs are given. The magnitude of PSD fluctuations in realistic environments is investigated and
