In particular, we generalize the reformulation-linearization technique of [9] to complementarity problems and discuss how it reduces to the standard technique for binary mixed-integer programs. Then, we consider a class of complementarity problems that appear in KKT systems and show that its convex hull is that of a binary mixed-integer program. For this class of problems, we study further the case where a single complementarity constraint is imposed and show that all nontrivial facet-defining inequalities can be obtained through a simple cancel-and-relax procedure. We use this result to identify special cases where McCormick inequalities suffice to describe the convex hull and other cases where these inequalities are not sufficient.

ABSTRACT Network coding is a new technique to improve network capacity and reliability. COPE and ... more ABSTRACT Network coding is a new technique to improve network capacity and reliability. COPE and DCAR are basic network coding schemes which have been proposed for opportunistic network coding in wireless networks. The performances of these coding mechanisms have been studied by simulations or experiments. There is an interest in modeling the performances of these coding schemes mathematically. In fact, analytical approach can provide quicker performance analysis and comparison between these network coding schemes. In this paper, we propose an analytical model for the DCAR coding gain. The analytical results are validated by simulations in NS-2.

Further, marketing and innovativeness capabilities underlie business performance of Vietnamese firms.Research limitations/implicationsA key limitation of this study is the examination of the impact of expected WTO on only two firm capabilities: marketing and innovativeness. There might be several other firm capabilities that may be affected ...

The future of robotic surgery holds much promise for ongoing technological advancement. In particular, the robotic platform allows for development into other areas of the computer integrated surgery spectrum, from introducing imaging data into the operating room console to expanding surgical expertise outside the operating room to remote areas. This chapter will discuss the future of robotic surgery, focusing on the integration of advanced imaging systems, teleproctoring, and telesurgery.

It is increasingly being used as an adjuvant to surgery, conventional radiation therapy, and chemotherapy as well as being used as primary treatment. Since the introduction of the Gamma Knife (Elekta, Stockholm, Sweden) system, many more stereotactic radiosurgery machines have become available. The objective of this review is to compare and contrast the various currently available stereotactic radiosurgery platforms.

Bandgaps of both bulk alloys are first studied by a tight-binding model modified for nitrogen incorporation in diluted regimes. The critical thicknesses of those alloys are then calculated for various compositions. For the same lattice-mismatch and nitrogen amount, the bandgap of bulk GaAsPN is found to be closer to the targeted gap value of 1.7 eV for high efficiency tandem solar cell. GaPN and GaAsPN epilayers are then grown by molecular beam epitaxy on GaP substrate and studied by photoluminescence and X-ray diffraction. A GaAsPN bulk alloy emitting light at 1.77 eV at room temperature is obtained, demonstrating promising properties for further use in III-V/Si photovoltaic multijunction solar cells.

One suggested reason for this is that teachers may assume that there is an opposition between CLT and traditional approaches. Studies on this topic draw on questionnaires, on the writers' teaching experiences, and on classroom observation. The present research quotes from journals written by Vietnamese teachers of English during an in‐service course. The journals reveal that teachers do implement new ideas at the same time as incorporating the traditional features valued in their educational systems.

Clinical neurologic examination usually fails to uncover an abnormality, which indicates that the pain could be a neuroirritative rather than neuropathic process. This article reviews the clinical characteristics, etiology, and various treatments for trigeminal neuralgia and atypical facial pain.
