The concept of stupidity, which has always aroused a lot of controversy, became the center of attention. The text, however, does not focus only on recalling the definition of the term itself, but confronts it with the views of the poet himself and his individual approach to the question of happiness. Conducted considerations also concern the place of stupidity in the culture of the Enlightenment – the age of triumph of reason and the time of significant discoveries in various fields of science, it’s closeness to the notion of madness, as well as the perception of both phenomena and their manifestations by society.Artykuł został poświęcony analizie wiersza Wojciecha Miera Obrona głupich. Advices, recommendations and warnings for future mothers as well as for their caregivers during this challenging period, are in the centre of the author’s attention. By describing an attitude of physicians, devoid of belittling prejudices towards pregnant women (their experiences, behaviours, and emotionally and mentally inadequate reactions to their own ailing and changes in their bodies), the author suggests that it implies a new, mature way of defining their role in society. A particular attention is given by the author also to the statements from the guides concerning the emotions, needs, and threats with which the prospecti...

The basis of the considerations presented in it became issued during this period medication guides. The work consists of six chapters. The first part includes a reflection carried out during the reign of Stanislaw August Poniatowski measures to improve the sanitary - health of the country and increase in the level of medical care. Attention was drawn to the character of the implemented solutions, we sought to identify and discuss their causes and consequences. An important element was also an attempt to describe the perception of concepts of health and disease. In the further course of deliberations was a woman, and the exact position which occupied in the Polish society the second half of the eighteenth century. The core of the trial are an analysis of the literature usable moving about health, illness and healing arts....

It concerns emotions and feelings accompanying a person during an epidemic, as well as problems and difficulties that he had to overcome. It also introduces the commonly functioning opinions of doctors about the plague and ways to fight it. The text should also be considered as an attempt to explain the reactions, behaviors and adopting specific attitudes – both of the sick and those managing the specific organization of social life during an epidemic.

Itprimarily attempts to find and explain the reasons for the use of such motifs in literature and toexamine their impact on building a specific image of the hero and creating the reality in which hefunctions.

Novel films were prepared by the addition of 1% chitosan, 1% nano silicon dioxide, and 1% nisin and freeze-dried for the performance study. Physicochemical properties such as tensile strength, optical, and thermal properties with the performance characteristics of the novel films were measured. Coated and uncoated cantaloupes with various coating solutions were stored and chilled at 4 °C in a relative humidity of 70% for up to nine days. The microbial population measurements have been detected every three days. Results show that the fourier transform infrared intensity (FTIR) of nano/SiO2 and with the addition of nisin (nano/SiO2/n) were higher than chitosan (CH) film except in the wavenumber (3150–3750 cm−1) films peaks. Novel nanofilms enhanced tensile strength as well as optical and thermal properties. XRD analysis reported tw...

Godne uwagi są zwłaszcza dzieła wydawane w Polsce w drugiej połowie XVIII w., a więc w czasie szczególnego rozwoju medycyny i położnictwa.
