The Sharī‘ah supervision is playing an important rather essential role in the governing the Islamic banks. Supervision of the Sharī‘ah Board and consistency in rule of Sharī‘ah are to be considered as mandatory components of an effective and efficient structure of Sharī‘ah Governance. The Sharī‘ah Council (SC), which is specific to Islamic banks, is considered to be the most important part of the SG framework. Since Islamic FI is similar in many ways to conventional FI, the existence of a good corporate governance framework is imperative. But unlike conventional FI, Islamic FI is responsible to guarantee compliance of the principles of Sharī‘ah in products of the Islamic Financial Institution and other operational management. The study will also addresses the issues of accountability/Sharī‘ah Audit and role of Sharī‘ah Supervisory Board in Islamic financial institutions in Pakistan and Malay...

However, lack of appropriate support for many local languages on mobile devices, which use complex scripts rather than Latin scripts, is constraining many people across developing Asia and elsewhere from using their mobile devices in the same way. There are some ad hoc solutions for certain scripts, but what is needed is a comprehensive and scalable framework which would support all scripts. The Open Type Font (OTF) framework is now being widely used for supporting complex writing systems on computing platforms. If support for OTF is also enabled on mobile devices, it would allow them to also support complex scripts. The current paper reports on work in this area, taking Pango, an open source rendering engine, and porting and testing its language modules on a mobile platform to provide support for Open Type Fonts. ...

The single crystal structure reveals that acylamino oxygens and coordinated waters develop a 3D supramolecular network, which is composed of 2D layers, and each 2D layer is formed by 1D Dy-H2O-ox chains linked by tridentate PDH2- ligands. The complex exhibits metal centered luminescence with yellowish blue emission. The energy transfer mechanism and photoluminescence is also investigated.

Nutrient use inefficiencies can cause environmental pollution through the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and of soluble and particulate forms of N, P and carbon (C) in leachate and leaching into watercourses. Improving nutrient use efficiencies in agriculture calls for the development of sustainable nutrient management strategies, more efficient use of mineral fertilisers, increased recovery and recycling of waste nutrients, and, better exploitation of the substantial inorganic and organic reserves of nutrients in the soil. More energy is required to produce N fertilizer creates both higher environmental pollution and its production cost. Therefore, Nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) is more essential for agriculture development and environmental protection. NUE is a very complex process including assimilation, nitrification, translocation, nitrogen uptake and remobilization due to several environmental, ...

The assessment of disease progression not only provides useful information for diagnosis and therapeutic supervision judgment but also for monitoring disease. Different invasive and non invasive methods are applied to diagnose the disease from initial to end stage (mild fibrosis to cirrhosis). Although, liver biopsy is still considered as gold standard to identify liver histological stages, an assessment of the disease development based on non-invasive clinical findings is also emerging and this may replace the need of biopsy in near future. This review gives brief insight on non-invasive methods currently available for predicting liver fibrosis in HCV with their current pros and cons to make easier for a clinician to choose better marker to assess liver fibrosis in HCV infected patients. Methods: More than 200 studies regarding invasive and noninvasive markers available for HCV l...

In this review the diagnosis and correction of Zn deficiency in several important crops in a wide range of soils has been discussed. Crop yield increases up to 120% in wheat, 48% in rice, 50% in cotton, 18% in maize, 22% in potato, 30% in alfalfa, 50% in soybean and 26% in citrus orchards have been reported with application of Zn by using appropriate rates, methods (soil or foliar) and sources (such as ZnSO4). Critical soil Zn concentration range for most crops has been reported between 0.5-2.0 mg kg-1 for DTPA and 0.5-3.0 mg kg-1 for Mehlich-1. In general, soil application of 5-11 kg Zn ha-1 is recommended for 3-4 crop seasons to sustain crop production. In the past, the focus of agronomists and policy makers has been on crop production, rather than crop nutritional quality. This phenomenon contributed to Zn malnutrition in human...

Transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy images and X-ray diffraction analysis clearly indicated the formation of NiO-NF/MWCNT nanocomposite. The electro-chemical properties of NiO-NF/MWCNT CE are studied by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. In particular, current-voltage measurements indicated superior power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 7.63% of the NiO-NF/MWCNT CE compared to 6.72% for the platinum (Pt). The superior photovoltaic performance and low cost of the NiO-NF/MWCNT nanocomposite can be potentially exploited as a new counter-electrode in DSSCs.

Nanocrystalline p-type NiO contributes in the improvement of holes conduction at the acetylene black surface and escalates the electrocatalytic activity, confirmed by our cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. Owing to the improvement of electrocatalytic activity, the mutual porous acetylene black surface with p-type NiO nanoparticles counter electrode and dye-sensitized TiO2 photoanodes yielded significantly enhanced power conversion efficiency of 7.75%, which is superior to that of 6.51% and 6.96% of AB and expensive Pt in our experiment respectively.
