The proposed semi-immersive Virtual Reality (VR) interface aims to elevate the user experience in such indirect environment, where effective delivering of functional yet distinguishable experience effectively is crucial. The system comprises product customisation and personalization service, in which the product is visualized in a three-dimensional highly interactive manner.

The advantages that Virtual Reality system makes available by means of high level of product visualisation, real time interaction and promoting hedonic values can elevate the customer experience in the distance-shopping environment. This technology opens great opportunity for luxury names to engage customers into the experience and maintain the distinctive level of services provided across different channels. Using innovative digital tools could support the establishment and the maintenance of the brand image in such a distant world [Dauriz et al. 2014]. Luxury brands provide exclusive in-stores services like product configuration aiming for integrating aspects of their customers' individuality within their end products and engaging them into the experience. Through Virtual Reality, customising and personalising the product enhances the learning process in an entertaining and engaging environment [Mujber et al. 2004].

Such notifications, going beyond the traditional fuel/speedometer indicators, have proven popular with drivers and exhibit great safety-enhancing potential. In previous work, we proposed a HUD design which showed substantial promise towards aiding driver reactions under low visibility conditions. In this paper, we present an evolution of the original design which aims to improve on it both in terms of efficiency and cost. Alongside the new HUD design we present a newly developed medium-fidelity driving simulator that can make use of real road-traffic traces and improve on realism by considering wireless communication limitations. We use the new simulator to evaluate our HUD design and show that it compares favourably with our past efforts.

Furthermore, patients in remote locations, which represent a substantial proportion, face additional time and cost limitations. Current gait analysis methods, although they provide a very detailed record of the patient's walking cycle, are few and located in major city based facilities. Telemedicine based systems are increasingly in demand as they offer cost benefits and wider accessibility. Our proposed system offers a novel, cost efficient motion capture method which could be deployed in remote location and record patient's gait which in turn can be presented to the specialist medical staff remotely through an analytical Virtual Reality environment for review.

The employment of Virtual Reality (VR) based visualization and training environments in the delivery of anatomy teaching transfers the learning experience from one that involves memorising the structures without a true understanding of the 3-Dimensional (3D) relations, to a process that involves a thorough understanding of the structure based on visualisation rather than memorising, which makes the learning process more efficient and enjoyable, and less time consuming. This paper describes the development of a Virtual Reality and 3D visualisation system for anatomy teaching. The developed system offers a real-time 3D representation of the heart in an interactive VR environment that provides self-directed learning and assessment tools through a variety of interfaces and functionalities. To ensure the accuracy and precision of the developed system it was evaluated by a group of medical professionals.

The proposed system will take motion capture data stored in the Coordinated 3 Dimensional (C3D) file format and present the data as a visualisation in a three dimensional (3D) virtual environment. This article is presenting the design and development considerations, the evaluation results based on usability traits of this system and the user acceptance of the technology as a viable diagnostic tool. A virtual reality application was developed for the purposes of visualising motion captured data for gait analysis in a virtual environment. Twenty users with relevant experience in the field of gait analysis participated in user trials to gauge user reaction and acceptance of the proposed system. An adapted version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework was used to analyse results. All trials were conducted in an in-house virtual reality and simulation laboratory. The intention of health professionals to use the system was explored based on the TAM, with added constructs that concern virtual environments: Technical aspect (TA), Orientation (Orient.), Physical and emotional (PhE), and Availability of hardware in-house (AHWH). Based on the TAM and extended factors the findings suggest that the system was perceived as useful and health professionals' intentions to use the GADV/VE system were strongly affected by technical aspects and availability of hardware in-house and moderately affected by orientation and physical and emotional side effects. Results from the output of the TAM framework show that the virtual reality application for gait analysis would be a valuable tool in the diagnostic stage of gait analysis and was positively received by health professionals in the relevant field.
