Shaking table, multi-gravity separator, high intensity wet magnetic separator, free jet and colum... more Shaking table, multi-gravity separator, high intensity wet magnetic separator, free jet and column flotation were applied for concentration of Uckopru fine chromite tailings amounting about 1 million tons and occupying an area of approximately 50000 m2. A flow-sheet was developed for the concentration of chromite tailings economically and a concentrate of about 48% Cr2O3 content could be obtained with a recovery of about 67.3%. Resultant tailings with 5.6% Cr2O3 can be transported to an environmentally suitable area.

The Ergani sample contained pyrrhotite as impurity and trace amount of silver whereas the Murgul sample contained only silver as a trace element. The highest copper extraction was obtained with the Ktire sample that contained neither silver nor pyrrhotite.

The working principle is the transformation of the shaking table into a drum. Turning of the drum at a speed cre ating a force greater than the centrifugal force causes the mineral particles to attach on the drum which are later separated. Particles of different specific gravity are separated more quickly than with classical separators. By the development of this separator, super-fine particles, tailings and slimes con taining tin, chromium, tungsten and rare metals can be separated. Also low-grade in dustrial minerals, iron ore, barite and coal can be separated economically.

Le minerai contient, en moyenne, 35% de spath fluor (CaF 2 ), 32% de spath pesant, on a effectue des essais de separation magnetique et de flottation. De plus, on a essaye d'obtenir du thorium qui se presentait sous forme d'un concentre preliminaire a grains tres fins.

Üretim ve rezerv konusunda tekel konumda olan Çin’in ihracata getirdiği sınırlamalar ile birlikte yüksek teknoloji üreten ülkeler kaynak arayışına başlamıştır. Ticari olarak birincil NTE mineralleri bastnazit, monazit ve ksenotimdir. Bu minerallere sahip olmayan ülkeler ikincil NTE minerallerinden [Eudialyte (Ödalit), loparit, piroklor, anklisit, aegirine (egrin)] üretimleri araştırmaya ve işlemeye başlamışlardır. Bu çalışma kapsamında NTE mineralleri, dünyadaki rezerv ve üretim durumu, kullanım alanları gibi genel bilgilere değinildikten sonra, birincil ve ikincil mineral kaynaklarından konsantre elde edilmesinde uygulanan yöntemler, yapılan çalışmalar ve proses akım şemaları ile ilgili bilgiler derlenmiştir.

Additionally, it is used in substential quantity as lime in iron and steel industry. Limestone as a source of lime should have some specific physical and chemical properties. Furthermore, technological processes for high quality lime production is also very important. in this investigation, pyhsical, chemical and mineralogical properties of 12 different limestone samples were determined. Calcination tests were carried out to produce high quality lime suitable for the iron and steel industry. As a result of this study, a new description namely "Metallurgical Limestones" is proposed for the limestone uses of parallel flow regenerative shaft kilns and a triangle diagram is developed to pre-selection of raw material.

Nickel sulphide ore subjected to this investigation was taken from the Marmara district of Turkey... more Nickel sulphide ore subjected to this investigation was taken from the Marmara district of Turkey, where widespread chromite mineralization can be observed. Some amounts of magnetite and chromite exist in the ore together with sulphide and oxide type nickel minerals. The ore sample contains 1.32% Ni, 10.79% SiO2, 78.39% Fe2O3, 1.3 g/t Ag, and 1.0 g/t Au. The ore sample is constituted of about 70% magnetite, 15% sulphide minerals, and 5% chromite and iron oxides, as well as 10% gangue minerals. Nickel mineralization in the ore such as pentlandite, violarite, millerite awaruite, and asbolanewas determined. Due to the complex structure of mineralization, a combination of gravity-separation and flotation methods was applied for the concentration of nickel sulphide and oxide ores. A nickel concentrate containing 12.32% Ni was produced with 89.7% recovery and final tailings with 0.088% Ni can be disposed with 4.9% of metal loss. A process flowsheet was developed according to the optimum test results. The importance of this research is that it is the first example of developing a flowsheet for the beneficiation of sulphide and oxide type nickel mineralization observed together in chromite ore deposits.
