A field experiment was conducted during the summer of 2013 at Palato Farm of the University of Agriculture Peshawar, Amir Muhammad Khan Campus Mardan, to determine the effect of phosphorus (P) and Zinc (Zn) on the yield and yield component of mungbean. The experiment consisted of four levels of P (0, 25, 50, and 75 kg ha−1) and four levels of Zn (0, 5, 10, and 15 kg ha−1). Data associated with the number of leaves and plant height illustrated that the higher number of leaves plant−1 (8.8) by an average was observed when P was applied at the rate of 75 kg ha−1 followed by 0 kg phosphorous (P) ha−1 (8.7) and Zn (Zn) application at the rate of 10 kg ha−1produced a maximum number of leaves plant−1 (9) followed by 15 kg ha−1(8.8) where 0 kg ZN ha−1 resulted in (7.7). Similarly, Zn significan...

The different hormonal analogues used in this study were ovaprim, HcG, LHRH and ovatide. The dose of ovaprim was 0.5 ml/kg 1b.w, ovatide 0.5 ml/kg 1b.w, LHRH 10 μg/kg 1 in double injection and HcG 10 μg/kg 1 in double injection. The best reproductive performance has been shown by the treatment of HcG i.e. % fertilization was 80±0.06, % hatchability 75±0.02 and % survival 56±0.02.

The plight of the juvenile offenders defined by the JJSO 2000 has not changed. The law has not been implemented in Balochistan after the lapse of 18 years. The non implementation of the JJSO 2000, is virtually denial of the rights of children in conflict with the law. The research paper points out non implementation of JJSO 2000 and ordeal of Juvenile offenders during their jail terms and emphasizes the implementation of JJSO 2000 and JJSO Rules 2001in Balochistan for bringing the children in conflict with the law, back in the society, with mental, moral and physical training to become responsible citizens and gain social position in society after coming out from confinement. The research design for this paper is used is Qualitative methodology. In this regard the Gaddani Jail is taken as case study because it is the second largest Central Jail of Balochistan....

Survey of private fish farms, hatchery and natural water bodies was conducted in a radius of 14 Km from around river Ravi near Lahore (Punjab Province) Pakistan. Out Of 1628 fishes belonging to 18 genera, 517 fishes of 10 genera were found affected with EUS. The incidence of EUS in culturable fishes was higher in Cirrhina mrigala (15.4%) moderate in Catla cat/a (13.3%) and lower in Labeo rohita (5.0%). Exotic fish, Chinese carp Ctenoparyngodon idella and Hypophthalmicthys molitrix were not affected with EUS. In non-culturable fishes the incidence of EUS was highest in Channa punctatus (72.8%) moderate in by C. straitus (65.45%) and comparatively lower Puntius ticto (43.7%). A slow growing temperature sensitive Saprolegnia spp. was isolated from all of EUS infected fish species. Aeromonas spp. and Pseudomonas spp. were isolated from the d...

Four types of feeds containing 30, 35, 40 and 45% fish meal with 20, 15, 10 and 5% soybean meal, respectively were formulated and fed to fish at the rate of 1.5-2%/ of their body weight twice a day. Survival rate was maximum by fish fed diet I (D1) than all other treatments. Growth of fish fed the diets containing 30% lipid increased having low cost is maximum than those of other diets. Production cost (Rs.)/kg was also minimum for diet I (D1, 120.90) followed by diet II (D2, 139.36), diet IV (D4, 139.50) and diet III (D3, 145.20). It was concluded that the diet with 35% crude protein and having 30% fish meal and 20% soybean meal is suitable for the better growth and production of rainbow trout yearlings.

It works to fulfill the requirement of a teacher to meet with the effective teaching styles. This study aims to examine the secondary school teachers’ perceptions about professional development, its importance in teaching practices and why it has been declared an instrument to get the students’ learning outcomes. For this purpose, we opted semi-structured interviews for the collection of data. The total 13 participants participated in this study. The findings of the study revealed that the professional development affects teacher’s classroom practices and enhances the learning achievement of students. The findings also showed that the continuous professional development induces teachers to improve their teaching competencies to meet the need of learners as per educational demands and the relevance of tea...

This work explored the fish fauna and the risk factors for the Ichthyo-faunal diversity loss at the foothills of Hindu Kush. A total of 21 fish species were collected from different parts and tributaries of River Chitral, from Shandur up to Arandu, extending to Afghanistan border. Our collection reported 4 fish species for the first time from Pakistan, namely Acanthocobitis uropthalmus, Lepidopygnosis typus, Horalabiosa palaniensis, Horalabiosa joshuai. One species namely Nangra robusta is reported for the first time from River Chitral. Alluvial nature of rocks, construction of hydro projects and duck ponds, introduction of exotic species, erosion and sedimentation of rivers and streams, illegal fishing, and effluent discharges are the major concerns. Major threats to biodiversity loss need to be addressed for proper conservation of biodiversity as a whole and Ichthyo-di...

In the Astana Summit, India and Pakistan were admitted as a full member of the SCO. It was a vital development from South Asian perspective as two populous countries of the region joined the SCO. Parenthetically, it was the Astana Summit in 2005 where these two countries and Iran were first attended the SCO meeting as an observers. Since the establishment of the SCO, it is the first but important expansion in the organization, particularly from the economic, security and geographic dimensions. India and Pakistan are the two most important countries from South Asia. The addition of the two countries means that the SCO has achieved double spillovers in terms of coverage and functionality. The SCO will gain new impetus on the enlargement of both newly members in economic, security and other aspects. This means that the long-term ...

In this paper, a mathematical model of the S-CO2 simple Brayton cycle is constructed, and the cyclic characteristics are analysed. The relationship between the component parameters of the system and the calculation parameters of the cycle such as the cycle efficiency and the output net work are obtained under the design conditions. Meanwhile, calculation models of turbine and compressor under off-design conditions are established, and the characteristics of the whole cycle are analyzed. Thus, the characteristics of off-design conditions of the simple cycle are obtained. This study provides some reference for the related research of the S-CO2 Brayton cycle and the practical engineering application.
