Recent developments in wireless communication technologies led to the evolution of Vehicular Ad h... more Recent developments in wireless communication technologies led to the evolution of Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET). The main goal of VANET is to afford communication between vehicles without negotiating security. Regulating the traffic and identifying malicious vehicles plays an important role in VANET. In this paper, traffic control is achieved by sustaining the distance between the vehicles and the malicious vehicles are secluded and further communication is blocked with the malicious vehicles. The existing Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol has been suitably modified to achieve the above mentioned road safety measures. The Proposed protocol was analyzed using the performance metrics Packet Delivery Ratio, Dropped Packets and Routing Overhead.
