However, there are several challenges facing universities in developing countries including Yemen as they seek to implement e-learning. Some of these challenges are associated with the demographic variables of the participants involved in the implementation of e-learning initiatives. Therefore, this paper examines the influence of the demographic factors (age, gender, teaching experience, e-learning experience) on individual and course challenges of e-learning. Four hypotheses were generated from the research questions of the study. A quantitative method was employed to collect the data and 107 participants (lecturers) completed the survey-based questionnaire. T-test and ANOVA analyses were employed as statistical tools. Based on the findings, the effects of demographic characteristics on the individual and course challenges of implementing e-learning at the university were identified. Some significant differences were found in terms of the years of lecturers’ teaching experience. Conversely, no significant differences were found in terms of age, gender, and e-learning technology related experience. Furthermore, it was found that the experience of lecturers in the use of e-learning technologies was low. University teachers need to be provided with the necessary training to bring them in line with latest learning technologies. Decision makers at the university should be aware of the challenges that lecturers may face during the implementation process and provide the necessary support.

These crucial factors are related to the main entities of LMS: technology experience, service quality, system quality, and information quality. A quantitative research approach by means of a questionnaire was used. A total 174 participants were surveyed using the questionnaire. A partial-least-squares structural modeling approach was employed. This study shows that these critical factors are fundamental predictors of students’ acceptance and satisfaction, which directly impact their decisions about using LMS. System quality was the most significant positive factor affecting students’ acceptance and satisfaction. Therefore, for students’ satisfaction and acceptance, a higher education institution needs to consider all these critical factors before implementing a blended learning environment with LMS.

It increasingly becomes a popular research area for opinion mining in education that analyses and understands students’ opinions toward their institutions for improving the quality of decision-making. In this study, a systematic review was conducted to explore the recent application of sentiment analysis in higher education; to classify SA techniques and methods commonly and successfully used in the higher education domains. A systematic mapping review was applied to 840 articles, and 22 related studies are selected based on the study’s criteria. The findings revealed that the prior studies mainly focus on six domains for applying SA in the higher education context and the teaching quality evaluation was the most addressed domain. The study also found that applying specific SA techniques could be the best tool for institutions to solve particular learning problems and a useful tool ...

A quantitative research approach was used in which a total of 174 students from a public university in Yemen were surveyed using the questionnaire. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used for data analysis. The results indicated that both students' perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness had a significant positive relationship with student satisfaction. Therefore, higher education institutions need to consider the relationships between the factors of acceptance and satisfaction in implementing a blended learning environment. Consequently, LMS system’s ease of use and usefulness make it possible for students to devote their attention to learning the course materials instead of spending additional effort in learning the instrument.

IoT involves an important set of technologies which are expected to be the next information technology revolution and the evolution of big data analytics. IoT technologies and applications are intimately associated with people; hence, trust is the major issue. To highlight this key element of IoT, this study reviews the progress of the research work related to trust in IoT and found that several issues need to be addressed. This paper also provides an insight on the challenges of trust in IoT, and some of these challenges from various aspects are precisely discussed. Moreover, existing solutions from academic, technical, and industry aspects are presented. However, many other issues and challenges remain open that needs to be considered while designing and deploying the trusted solutions in IoT environment.

E-learning has served as a catalyst for higher education to expand in the last decade. However, there are still many challenges facing universities in the developing world, as they attempt to implement e-learning. This paper investigated the main challenges that could significantly impact the implementation of e-learning in developing countries. The main objective of this paper was to identify these challenges and examine how they are related to the challenges facing instructors when using e-learning systems. A total of 107 university instructors responded to an online questionnaire about their perceptions of the main challenges in implementing e-learning in a university context. A partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was employed to test the relationships between certain course, contextual, technological, and individual challenges. Challenges related to the design of the course, the support provided, societal/culture, and technology were found to have a significant impact on the instructors' use of e-learning systems. Several implications for the policymakers and practitioners were discussed. INDEX TERMS E-learning, higher education, individual challenges, technology utilization.

In view of this, the study employed a quantitative research design utilizing a questionnaire as the data collection instrument. Data was then obtained from 174 undergraduate students with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique used for data analysis. The study revealed indicators such as perceived usefulness, the quality of the system and computer self efficacy as fundamental determinants of students' acceptance and satisfaction with blended learning.
