Methods A clinical study was conducted, and the postoperative outcome was evaluated on 31 patients who underwent Fast-Fix combined with blood clot suture meniscus injury method, and admitted to the Department of Bone and Joint and Sports Medicine of Qingdao Municipal Hospital from April 2016 to April 2017. The subjects were 18 males and 13 females aged eight to 45 years, with an average age of (32±8) years. Patients voluntarily participated in the trial after learning about the risks and the purpose of the trial. Inclusion criteria: the initial unilateral meniscus injury, which does not involve other intra-articular injuries, or lower extremity vascular nerve injury; knee pain and interlocking, no obvious joint limitation or general daily activities. The patients with other injuries in the knee joint, old meniscus injury, neurovascular injury and congenital knee malformation were excluded. The damage, location, and extent of the meniscus were observed under arthroscopy to determine whether it was accompanied by damage in other joints or ligaments. Application of meniscus repair suture system combined with blood clot trimming suture was performed to treat meniscus injury under arthroscope. The patients were observed for rehabilitation at three months and six months after the surgery, and the visual analog scale (VAS) score, 2000 International Knee Documentation Committee(IKDC 2000)score, and Lysholm joint function score were performed. The repeated ANOVA was used to compare the differences of VAS score, IKDC 2000 score and Lysholm score at different time points. Results All the patients were followed up without postoperative knee pain, interlocking, secondary surgery and complications. According to the data analysis, the difference of VAS scores at different time was statistically significant (F=963.131, P 0.05). There were significant differences in IKDC 2000 scores (F =4688.837, P 0.05) and Lysholm scores (t =1.896, P >0.05) between three months and six months after the surgery. Conclusion Good postoperative outcomes can obtain from the method of Fast-Fix combined with clot suture meniscus injury method; the mechanism of blood clots promoting meniscus healing is still unclear, and need further research. Key words: Arthroscopy; Meniscus injury; Blood coagulation; Knee joint

Methods: Lung tissue perfusion method was used to obtain the primary RPMCs, and then the cells were transiently transfected with ET-1 plasmids or empty vectors via Lipofectamine. Flow cytometry was used to determine the distributions of the cell cycle and cell size of RPMCs. Immunofluorescence staining and Western blotting were used to determine the level of alpha-smooth muscle actin. The ratio of the protein/DNA of the transfected RPMCs was also calculated. Western blotting was used to examine the levels of phosphorylations of protein kinase B/Akt, mTOR, and ERK1/2. Results: Primary RPMCs were isolated successfully. Overexpression of ET-1 resulted in a significant increase in total protein synthesis, expression of alpha-SMA, as well as increased cell size. Western blotting results showed that overexpression of ET-1 resulted in increased phosphorylation of Akt, mTOR and a decreased phosphorylation of ERK1/2 in RPMC. Conclusions: ET-1 overexpression induces RPMC hypertrophy and activation of Akt/PKB-mTOR pathway may be involved in the mechanism, with important implications for the pathogenesis of vascular remodeling in pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Multiple enhanced effects on excitation (PLE) & emission (PL) spectra inducing by coating of GQDs are observed: (a) The intensities of PLE&PL are greatly enhanced, (b) PLE&PL spectra have large split, (c) Emission peaks of as- v 4 , as- v 6 , s- v 4 and s- v 3 are selectively enhanced to produce four strong peaks with almost the same intensity. Furthermore, the experimental results indicate that the appearance of the strong as- v 4 and as- v 6 helps to improve the red light quality of the sample. The mechanism of the enhanced effects is proposed: the coordination of GQDs with Ti 4+ and Mn 4+ ions leads to the splitting of the crystal field, which further results to enhancement and the large splitting of PLE and PL spectra. Prototype white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) with low correlated color temperature and high color-rendering index are obtained using the optimal sample.
