Mncedzi V Ngomane
Mncedzi Ngomane is currently the Head of HR for MTN Swaziland. Before joining the Telco industry, Mncedzi spent about 6 years in the manufacturing industry heading HR for both Cadbury Swaziland, and later Cadbury Botswana. Before joining Cadbury he had stints with the Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation (RSSC) and Swaziland Standards Authority (SWASA).
During the course of his career Mncedzi has led and managed a number of HR transformational projects, such as the Cadbury takeover by Kraftffods, decommissioning of the Cadbury Botswana Plant, introduction of the Managed Services Model for the IT and Network functions in MTN Swaziland and the relocation of a 250 million worth MTN Uganda IT shared services Unit into Swaziland.
Over and above that, Mncedzi has played a key role in spearheading a number of HRM Strategic initiatives. These include the introduction of pay for performance model in a unionized environment for MTN Swaziland, driving the MTN Culture and engagement turnaround strategy resulting in MTN winning the MTN Group Great Place to work award and the UK Investors and People Gold accreditation in 2016. Two years later he lead MTN in the process of attaining Platinum accreditation from Investors In People making the business the first company in MTN Group and the rest of Africa to achieve the millstone. In that same year he led MTN towards certification by the South African Board of People Practices, making the business the first operation to embark on such certification in Swaziland and the rest of MTN Group.
Mncedzi has also played a key role in preparing MTN Swaziland for the new competitive era brought about by the introduction of direct competition in the Swaziland Mobile telecommunications industry. He led the development of a retention strategy that saw MTN Swaziland recording for the first time a regrettable attrition or turnover rate of 0% despite the emergence of competition.
