Study Design: The three major electronic databases were screened: MEDLINE (via PubMed), and Scopus and Elsevier. Review: Methodological quality assessment showed sample size calculation to be reported by only one study, and follow-up did not include a large number of participants - a fact that may introduce bias and lead to misleading interpretations of the study results. Conclusions: A systematic review of the current literature showed only in vitro evidence that there is no consensus on the advantage of using an offset configuration implant compared to those in straight-line configuration, well some studies shows significant improvement of bone stress distribution when an angulated implant is under oblique loading.

Management of segmental mandibulectomy defects present a major challenge to the rehabilitation te... more Management of segmental mandibulectomy defects present a major challenge to the rehabilitation team. Mandibular discontinuity obliterates the equilibrium and mandibular function’s symmetry, which leads to altered mandibular movements, facial disFigurement, incomprehensible swallowing, impaired speech and deviation of the remaining fragment towards the surgical side. While opening the mouth, this deviation intensifies, leading to the opening and closing in the angular pathway. A definitive mandibular guiding flange prosthesis on the resected side can be used productively to stabilize the occlusion and correct the deviation. A new prospective for treating segmental mandibulectomy patients by using only one device both for Physiotherapy and Mastication. Keywords: flange prosthesis; mandibular defects; mandibular resection; hemimandibulectomy.

PURPOSE The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to compare the marginal fit and accuracy of complete-arch implant-supported frameworks (CA), implant-retained fixed partial dentures (IRFPDs), single implant crowns (SICs), and interim implant-retained restorations (IIRRs) by using additive manufacturing (AM) and subtractive manufacturing (SM) methods. MATERIAL AND METHODS An electronic search was performed in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library for articles published up to August 2020. The authors acquired the data and evaluated the articles, and the final selection of articles was made according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies (MINORS) scale was used to evaluate the quality of the included studies. Heterogeneity was evaluated, and meta-analyses with subgroup analyses were performed in the selected studies. RESULTS The database search resulted in 960 articles. After removing duplicate articles (410 studies), the titles and abstracts were screened in detail, and 10 in vitro studies were selected for qualitative analysis and 9 for quantitative analysis according to the eligibility criteria. Subgroup analyses were performed to compare the 3DP versus the SM technique for different types of implant-supported frameworks (IRFPDs, SICs, IIRRs, and CA). In the IRFPDs analysis, the marginal fit accuracy of the 3DP systems was higher than that with the subtractive manufacturing method (P<.001). In the subgroup analysis of SIC frameworks (P=.55) and CA (P=.67) frameworks, no significant difference was observed in the assessed techniques. CONCLUSIONS The marginal fit of implant-supported frameworks manufactured by AM or SM methods is in the clinically acceptable range.

To ensure successful and long-term durability of all ceramic restorations, one of the key requirements is adequate cementation. In spite of using all ceramic restorations so frequently in our routine practice, very few are aware of exact bonding mechanism for it. This review enlightens us about all the aspects of all ceramic cementation.

Apart from surgical reconstruction, silicon prosthesis could be the alternative choice which is easier to fabricate and retentive through many ways. The type of retention can be planned on the basis of evaluation of clinical factors and patient compliance factors to give the patient the most compatible method of retention for his prosthesis Out of these mechanism silicon adhesive is the easier option for the patient as well as for the operator.

Furthermore it is more conservative in terms of conventional FPD where tooth prepration is mandatory. Long-term predictability of implant restoration are well established, however agreement to prefer between screw-retained and cement retained restorations is always a topic of debate, which depends upon passivity of the framework, interarch space, occlusion, esthetics and loading characteristics. While cement retained restoration are better than screw in aspect of margin adaptation, occlusion, esthetics, passivity and cost reduction. But the major concern for the cement retained implant restoration is difficulty of retrievability, so it is very important to decide which type of cement should be used with different implant abutment characteristi...

The rural aging population in contrast to their urban counterparts is illiterate, poor, and ignorant; cumulative is the fact that the youth are leaving rural areas for money and better opportunity to urban areas. An educational and motivational program to increase prosthodontic awareness was therefore undertaken and it was studied whether this translated into an increased demand for prosthodontic services. The study area consisted of a group of six villages collectively known as &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot;Sarora&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;quot; situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The study population was divided on the basis of age, sex, education, and economic status and comparisons were made in between these groups. Interview and clinical examination were the tools of the study. Data were collected before and after the educational program and was subjected to statistical analysis. The educational program led to more subjects adopting tooth brushing and neem twig chewing as a method of oral hygiene maintenance. The prosthodontic need fulfillment increased from 3.5% before the program to 13.6% after education and motivation. It was concluded that mobile dental clinics, dental camps, and prosthodontic outreach programs could be solutions to spread awareness and disseminate treatment.

The present article emphasizes on the outcome of prosthesis which the quacks deliver for the replacement of natural teeth. In the present study, we had explored the reason why people visit these quacks, the complications which they face after using fixed dentures delivered by the quack and some solutions to tackle quackery. Data were recorded as a closed-ended questionnaire for 132 participants. Nearly 64% of subjects were facing a problem with the denture and 74.2% of the participants were not even aware of any qualified practitioner. Most common reason to visit the quack was lack of awareness; other reasons were economy, proximity to house, comfortable fixed option, single appointment, and referrals. Awareness and orientation programs are possible solutions to spread knowledge, chang...
