The study examined effect of various explants and plant growth regulators combination for In vitro culture, growth and regeneration of tomato, derived hypocotyls and cotyledon from aseptically seedlings. Experimental purpose is studying regeneration response both of explants and use of various plant growth regulators combination. The result showed the difference regeneration ability explants response and shoot formation from various plant growth regulators combination. Callus induction was achieved between 8 to 10 days, after 18 to 24 days plant regeneration was observed. Addition of 0.2 mg L-1 IAA, 2 mg L-1 BAP in MS media known can produce 86% and 20% shoot formation from both of explants. The composition of 0.25 mg L-1 BAP, 0.25 mg L-1 GA 3 essential for shoot elongation and 0.15 mg L-1 NAA inducing roots formation.

Tanaman ini juga sering digunakan sebagai tanaman model dalam penelitian molekuler, karena merupakan tanaman diploid dengan jumlah genom yang relatif kecil (n=12) dan mudah untuk dilakukan transformasi. Trasformasi genetik menggunakan Agrobacterium tumefaciens umum digunakan untuk mendapatkan tomat transgenik. Gen Sucrose Phophat Synthase (SPS) merupakan gen yang menentukan kandungan sucrosa pada buah tomat dan merupakan salah satu enzim kunci dalam asimilasi karbon. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan tanaman tomat putative trasforman melalui Agrobacterium tumefaciens yang mengandung gen SoSPS1. Penelitian menghasilkan tanaman tomat putative transforman, 1,6% dari eksplan kotiledon dan 1,76% dari eksplan tunas aksilar.

Metode Real-time PCR atau dikenal dengan istilah quantitative PCR (qPCR) merupakan metode alternatif untuk deteksi dan kuantifikasi cemaran babi berdasarkan residu keberadaan DNAnya pada sampel olahan pangan. Metode ekstraksi DNA dan kit amplifikasi yang tahan terhadap inhibitor menjadi kunci keberhasilan penggunaan qPCR untuk pendeteksian dan kuantifikasi cemaran babi. Pendeteksian cemaran DNA dengan probe qPCR digunakan karena mempunyai kelebihan tahan terhadap inhibitor, cepat, spesifik, dan multipel target. Real-time PCR has been widely used for screening and detection of pork content in a product. This research aimed to explore actin gene as a candidate for testing pork using qPCR.
