Dave Mudgett is a senior lecturer emeritus in the College of IST.
Prior to graduate work, Mudgett worked at Chrysler Corporation in operations research and supply-chain management. After completing his doctoral studies, Mudgett taught electrical engineering at Penn State, working primarily in control systems and signal processing.
Mudgett's research explored adaptive job scheduling and load balancing algorithms for multiprocessor systems. His interests included applying ideas from systems analysis, control, signal processing, and computer science to computer and information systems, human systems, or other large-scale systems that were loosely structured or imprecisely modeled. Mudgett taught applied mathematics, programming languages, and system design at IST. He also taught analog and digital control systems, adaptive control, learning systems, linear and nonlinear system theory, optimal control, probability and statistical communication theory, signals and systems, and electric circuit theory.
