At present I am working for a SME in Grenoble (France) in the field of innovation financing, as consultant. I assure for our clients the management of the administrative and financial aspects of their european projects in Horizon2020 programme, along with communication between partners and with the European Commission. My last work experience at the municipality of Chambery and my degree in a 2nd level master at Institut d'Urbanisme de Grenoble gave me competences in european project management and international cooperation, focused on urban local development. Previous experience in Italy, Milan: a work experience at Milan municipality in housing policy division and before the international master "Urban planning and Policy design" at Politecnico di Milano, with a specialisation in housing policies.

The interest of the author is to look into the territorial effects of these movements, from the point of view of the European policies and local projects. The literature on the experience of the American “gateways cities” lightens the local level for a rapid, efficient and profitable integration of migrants. Once having analyzed this reference, it is investigated the answers to migration by French and Italian cities and communities. The case studies show few possible solutions of inclusion of foreigners populations. Moreover, theirs models can be applied to the cross-border territories between France and Italy, to revitalize the economies of the mountain's villages, far from the big urban areas.
