Last week, we had the pleasure of joining WLI (GSA Women's Leadership Initiative) and students at the University of Texas, Austin. During the special event entitled, "Design the Solution: Navigate Your Way to a Career in Semiconductors," Sheela Pillai, Sr. Director of Engineering at Renesas, participated in "Innovations in Semiconductor Technology " panel discussion where she shared insights and career advice with eager students. "It was interesting to see how the girls related to my experience as a woman, sharing the desire for a sense of belonging, inclusivity, and being heard,” said Sheela. Chloe McCormack, Renesas’ Early Careers Talent Partner, also found the day valuable. “This event was a great way to kick off the Fall ’24 recruiting season. It was exciting to participate in an event dedicated to our industry and seeing students excited to be a part of it. During the technical panel discussions, students learned what it’s like to work in the semiconductor industry and received advice on how to kick start their career from Renesas speaker, Sheela Pillai, and other female leaders on the panel.” We're looking forward to continuing the conversation and supporting the next wave of semiconductor innovators with WLI! #semiconductors #WomeninTech #DEI

We’re happy to share that our Singapore team recently participated in the "Learn with Lunch & Outreach" program at Dignity Kitchen, a social enterprise that equips differently-abled individuals with culinary skills. Our team came together, preparing care packs for DPG/CSR Project Dignity and packing Bento Meal boxes, which were then distributed to local residents in need. During the event, participants learned basic sign language and gained valuable insights into Project Dignity's work. We’re proud of our team's dedication to giving back to the community! #GivingBack

We recently hosted Summer Collaboration Day ‘24 at our head office in Toyosu. The event brought together around 200 employees, including CEO Hidetoshi Shibata, for a day filled with craft beer, rock music and team building. The event aimed to show our appreciation for our employees and foster stronger relationships among colleagues who don't see each other in person often due to telecommuting. The event was a great success and we're excited to bring this social event to all Renesas Group locations in Japan from August to September 2024. We look forward to hosting more localized events in the future and continuing to strengthen our teams throughout Renesas. #Collaboration #EmployeeEngagement #TeamBuilding

Water conservation is a critical global issue and one of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals Renesas supports. Here is how our manufacturing sites in Suzhou and Beijing, China, have are making progress through dedicated efforts. 💧2023 Basic Unit Improvement Rate: Beijing site achieved 33% and Suzhou site 30% in comparison to 2021 base year. 💧2024 Targets: 20% improvement in Beijing and 30.5% in Suzhou vs. 2021. 💧”Beijing Four-Star Green Factory” Award: In July 2024, our Beijing site received the highest-level certification by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology. Takahiro Osawa, Director of Renesas Semiconductor (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., shared his insights. "As a semiconductor factory that uses a lot of water, protecting water resources is an important responsibility. As a member of the global community, we are working with a strong awareness of this issue. We believe that initiatives that contribute to sustainability will increase Renesas' corporate value. We hope to demonstrate the effectiveness of our water conservation activities to date and will continue to build on our efforts next year." Yongshu Li, President & General Manager of Renesas Semiconductor (Beijing) Co., Ltd. highlighted our commitment for continued improvement. "Because Beijing is one of the cities with extreme water shortages, we will continue to incorporate water-saving measures into our daily work, constantly explore possibilities for water conservation, increase the water recycling rate, and always use the latest information technology to accurately manage and further reduce water usage." Minji joined our Human Resources & General Affairs team and contributed to various projects, including DE&I initiatives, employee interviews, technical seminars, annual leave promotion, and operations.
