The accessibility and visibility of knowledge is becoming increasingly fundamental to ensure personal, institutional, and national advancement. At Knowledge E, we combine global expertise with local knowledge. We work with higher education institutions, publishers, and scholars to solve our society’s most significant challenges, and achieve our vision developing ‘a more knowledgeable world’.
As part of this mission, we provide high quality, affordable publishing services (under our KnE Publishing imprint) to support the development and advancement of diamond open access journals throughout the world, with a particular emphasis on the Global South. Working with universities, medical and scholarly societies, research councils, policy makers and funders, we help to ensure that cutting-edge research is discoverable both locally and globally.
We were the first organisation in the region to sign the Barcelona Open Infrastructure Declaration, the first organisation in the United Arab Emirates (and 5th in the Midde East) to sign the SDG Publishers Compact, and a founding member of the Forum for Open Research in MENA, demonstrating our commitment to the Open Science movement. We have worked with over 25,000 researchers from over 60 countries, and KnE Open hosts publications from over 30 countries, and has over 2mn visitors a year, from 193 countries across the world.

We are highly regarded, and not only one of the first open access publishers in the region, but also one of the earliest signatories to the UNs SDG Publishers’ Compact in the Middle East. A member of ALSPS and OASPA, we also work closely as a regional partner and ambassador for leading non-profit organisations promoting accessible, sustainable research (including Crossref and ORCID).
Our goal is to advance the democratisation of knowledge through the production and dissemination of globally accessible content in all countries and languages, by empowering researchers to produce, publish and promote their work. With 5 offices across the world, and a team of 29 different nationalities, we offer our clients a truly global understanding of the academic ecosystem, and we leverage our uniquely diverse insights to provide a wide range of solutions and services designed to help the development and dissemination of high-impact research.
