Removed Comment While looking at this post on imgur, I scrolled down a bit. Found a post where two drunk guys were shooting at each other, with guns, as a hobby, with bullet proof vests.........but you know. It's still a VEST.
Meanwhile, I spent a year of my life recovering from cancer. Doctors said I was basically on deaths doorstep. All because I ate some cheeseburgers, and/or ate processed food. They're unclear why I had cancer so young, but I didn't even notice. I went in for a bad back, nurse saw something wrong with my skin, and did a blood test. Turns out I had 1/3rd the blood in my system I should have had. Took like 6 bags of infusion blood over the coarse of a week to get me back to normal.
Meanwhile these jackasses are shooting literal GUNS at each other as a hobby!!!

Removed Comment "Rogue state" is such an interesting term. Saudi Arabia is not a rogue state, but Tuareg rebels are not a state at all. Iran is a rogue state, but Pakistan is not.
"Autocratic" is interesting too. Turkey before Turgut Özal had military as its supreme power, as that military had constitutional right to just disband any government they didn't like. So it was a legal junta rule allowing some democratic appearance.
In terms of being fascist and genocidal Turkey under Erdogan hasn't changed one bit to the worse. I'd argue it's possibly became better, not worse in that regard. Even despite their participation in Artsakh.
It has become more corrupt, maybe. But they had a period of terrific growth of both economy and population (which has abruptly slowed down), that tends to make corruption more visible.
"200 years" is funny too. I take it the Red Sultan or the Young Turks or Kemal himself were less "rogue" or less "autocratic" than Erdogan?

I know it sounds odd, by I truly do fear an ex boyfriend of mine, who happened to buy his father an expensive banjo just before we split apart. He showed up at my house with a trunk full of guns and ammo, saying he wanted to talk to me alone, after our break up, years ago. My parents turned him away because he seemed angry. I have had my house broken into, been given death threats, and even run out of jobs since then. When someone makes an unwarranted attack against me in a comment, I just want the mods to see if it’s the same guy, with the same IP address, following my account and verbally abusing me. by ParabolicMotion @lemmy.world reason: Not kind.
