If you have been through the ringer searching for the perfect garden hose (one that is lightweight, that won’t split or burst, that is long enough, that is sturdy enough to last more than one season), here it is—and it's on sale for Black Friday.
This is the third year I've used my Giraffe Tools retractable garden hose reel. I loved the first one so much, I added a second one last year.
These are heavy, durable plastic reels that you wall mount within a few feet of your garden hose spigot. Installation is easy—I did it myself, twice. The reel swivels from side to side so you can take the hose anywhere across the yard. The hose itself is incredibly lightweight and comes in varying lengths. The included handle is fine, but you can change it out if you prefer a different one.
The true magic, though, is that it really retracts. A slight tug and zoom—it is back in the cradle. And because it is in the cradle, the hose doesn’t get hot, and it doesn’t get run over, and it doesn't get stepped on. I do advise you to bleed the hose for wintertime, but I have been pleased with how they survived a harsh winter outside. If you do experience an issue, during my one customer service interaction, I found the company to be very responsive.
I like my Giraffe hose so much that I'm eyeing theirretractable pressure washers and air pressure hoses during my own Black Friday shopping spree.
