The article describes several technologies of teaching a special class "Psychology of Folklo... more The article describes several technologies of teaching a special class "Psychology of Folklore and Psychologism in Classical Russian Prose Fiction" at non-philology faculties of higher education institutions. The article presents information pedagogical technologies, reveals insights into the meaning and advisability of using facilitation technologies in organizing and conducting multi-level classes at a higher education institution, and contains methodology guidelines for carrying out project activities. The article also describes in detail the methods of organizing a class activity aimed at studying a writer’s biography that are based on facilitation technologies. The group activities are based on "The World Café" model that makes it possible to process and comprehend a large amount of information, as well as to model or make up a plan of further activities on studying the works of an author in question. The idea of regarding consistency in the nature and society originated in ancient philosophy in t... more The idea of regarding consistency in the nature and society originated in ancient philosophy in the form of a general concept of livability and integrity of being. The problem of consistency of social life was the focus of such thinkers of XIX-XX centuries, as Auguste Comte, Herbert Spencer, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Pitirim Sorokin, Talcott Parsons. Philosophers always try to figure out the specifics of social phenomenon, mechanisms of social integration that provide social order despite the diverse interests of people who live in a community. Emile Durkheim considered society as a solidarity and combination of different ideas and positions. Society is not limited only to the life of its people. Society appears in the form of the creativity of people in various spheres of public life, the creation of material and spiritual values, development of nature and formation of new qualities of any person. The article reports on a study of public speech’s influence on making academic, public presentati... more The article reports on a study of public speech’s influence on making academic, public presentations more efficient. The paper draws on the findings made in the auditory and peer analysis of presentations delivered by students of IT English divided into two stages: before training and after public speech training. The article contains an overview of prosodic and extralinguistic factors that are responsible for ineffective academic presentations. Particular focus is given to the feasibility of academic presentations (to inform, motivate to study, expand knowledge on the subject, and others) from the university students’ reviews of their presentations. The author argues that a good balance between visuals and the speaker’s rhetorical competence is vital for effective academic presentations. The observations made in the article may be useful to develop expertise in the delivery of academic, public presentations as a part of professional training.
