Overcoming My Laravel Permission & Role Setup Struggle: Lessons Learned Recently, I faced a real challenge while working on a Laravel system with user permissions and roles—a feature completely new to me. This experience taught me a lot, not just about Laravel, but about programming in general and handling the learning curve. In the beginning, I felt totally lost. I watched a few YouTube tutorials and looked at example projects, but nothing really clicked. So, I fell back on my usual habit: blindly copying and pasting code from different sources. Not surprisingly, this only made things worse! I didn’t fully understand the code I was adding, which made debugging a nightmare. I started feeling anxious and like I was losing control over the entire project. What I Learned: After a lot of trial and error, I realized the importance of understanding the code you’re implementing, rather than just copying it. Here are my key takeaways: - Copy with Caution: It’s fine to reference others’ code, but always make sure you understand it first. If you don’t, you might accidentally bring new issues into your project. -Stay Calm in the Face of Errors: Debugging is part of the process. Take a step back, review the code, and don’t let errors throw you off balance. Every mistake is a chance to learn and grow. This experience made me a better programmer and reminded me of the value of patience and persistence. Letter to Frontend Engineers! Dear Frontend Engineers This is coming from the place of love, unity and commitment to compliment each other seamlessly. I know majority of You complain about API errors during integrations because You're expecting a "choke less" experience while consuming APIs but most of you usually put the "cart before the horse", sorry to say that. Testing APIs using postman after running into problems at the point of integrations may not be the proper approach. I know Your expectations of trusting the diligence of Backend Engineers are on a high side but nonetheless, we are all human, mistakes are inevitable, therefore you should give that room of error margin in order to test the endpoints before integrations. Also, I believe there is a lack of proper communication between the frontend team and the backend team which causes usual misconceptions and disagreement amongst both parties. Frontend team should communicate constructively without emotions whenever they are stressed out by unappealing API integration experience caused by the server-side engineers. On behalf of backend engineers, we will increase our effort to serve you better to enhance smooth integrations with little or no difficulties calling the supplied APIs. Today i will talk about FireBase here is 100 advice for firebase feel free to share or copy part1 Authentication: 1. Use Firebase Authentication for quick and secure user sign-in. 2. Implement passkeys for more secure, passwordless authentication. 3. Use custom authentication providers if Firebase doesn't cover your needs. 4. Take advantage of multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added security. 5. Use FirebaseUI to simplify setting up authentication UIs. 6. Keep users logged in across app sessions using session persistence. 7. Regularly rotate API keys to keep your authentication endpoints secure. 8. Use Email Verification to prevent fake accounts. 9. Leverage Anonymous Authentication to allow guest users in your app. 10. Enable reCAPTCHA for phone authentication. Firestore: 11. Store hierarchical data using subcollections in Firestore. 12. Use Firestore rules to secure your data by enforcing roles. 13. Always use indexes for optimal Firestore query performance. 14. Minimize reads with batching for writes and updates. 15. Use Firestore's query chaining to filter and order documents. 16. Use Firestore transactions for atomic updates. 17. Optimize reads by fetching only needed fields with projections. 18. Use error monitoring with Stackdriver for catching function errors. 38. Keep functions small and modular to improve maintainability. 39.
