Our gateway translates Gopher operations into SQL statements and the SQL results are translated into Gopher data. The gateway method of accessing the database simplifies the allowable operations to a limited, yet useful subset of the allowable SQL queries. We‘ve been using this software for some time now. We demonstrate some sample databases that the gateway is currently using and draw some conclusions about the software
