Differences in the usage of articles in Germanic resp. aspects in Slavic languages are interpreted from philosophical (philosophy of language) and diachronic (grammaticalization theory) perspective.
The main focus of the research is significant differences in the use of verbal aspects in the eastern and western Slavic languages based on the attempt to interpret this situation by Stephen Dickey („East-West-Theory“) and the theory of the grammatical synonymy of the article and aspect by Elisabeth Leiss.

This study is conducted from both a linguistic perspective and the viewpoint of acquiring Hungarian as a foreign language. It argues that the pragmatic dimensions of information structure are subject to hierarchical ordering in both languages. However, these hierarchies exhibit an inverted pattern relative to each other. In Hungarian, the predominant principle is hypothesized to be foreground-background structuring, with an embedded theme-rheme progression. Conversely, in German, the primary pragmatic principle is theme-rheme ordering, with foreground-background progression as an embedded secondary principle. In addition to the linguistic analysis, the paper aims to provide a useful tool for language instructors and learners to understand and acquire Hungarian word order. The theoretical aspects of the paper are illustrated with exercise materials from Hungarian language classes.
A tanulmány a magyar nyelv szórendjének pragmatikai aspektusait vizsgálja a német nyelvvel történő összehasonlításban. Ezek a hierarchiák azonban egymással összevetve fordított mintát mutatnak. A magyar nyelvben a domináns elv a fókusz–háttér struktúra, beágyazott téma–réma progresszióval. Ezzel szemben a német nyelvben az elsődleges pragmatikai elv a téma–réma sorrend, beágyazott, másodlagos elvként a fókusz–háttér progresszióval. A nyelvészeti elemzés mellett a tanulmány hasznos eszközt kíván nyújtani a nyelvtanárok és nyelvtanulók számára a magyar szórend megértéséhez és elsajátításához. A tanulmány az elméleti aspektusokat magyar nyelvórák gyakorlóanyagaival illusztrálja
