Kernel release status
The current development kernel is 2.6.39-rc3, released on April 11. Linus said:
It's been another almost spookily calm week. Usually this kind of
calmness happens much later in the -rc series (during -rc7 or -rc8,
say), but I'm not going to complain. I'm just still waiting for the
other shoe to drop.
And it is possible that this really ended up being a very calm release cycle. We certainly didn't have any big revolutionary changes like the name lookup stuff we had last cycle. So I'm quietly optimistic that no shoe-drop will happen.

Stable updates: no stable updates have been released in the last
week. The 2.6.38.3 update is in the review
process as of this writing; it can be expected sometime on or after
April 14. The 2.6.33.10 and 2.6.32.37 updates are
also in the review process, with an expected release on or after
April 15.
