Some of the surviving inscriptions in Chinese, old Uyghur and Tibetan have been interpreted and studied by scholars. There are several old Uyghur inscriptions in the south and north wall of the corridor of main chamber of the cave, most of which can only be clearly identified by ultraviolet light. In this paper, we will study the interpretation of six old Uyghur inscriptions on the north wall of the main chamber. Keywords: Mogao Grottoes Northern Zone, Cave 465, Old Uyghur inscription
The existence of old Uyghur Nestorians and other related peoples who spoke old Turkic languages h... more The existence of old Uyghur Nestorians and other related peoples who spoke old Turkic languages has been confirmed by the discovery of Christian manuscripts in historical languages from the Western Regions of China, Syriac gravestones with crosses, and Nestorian sites in a vast area stretching from Semirechye in the west to 泉州 Quanzhou in Fujian Province in the east. The Syriac, Sogdian, and old Uyghur manuscripts unearthed in Turpan have been systematically edited and interpreted by a joint group of experts from Britain and Germany. Also, a great deal of work has been done by Chinese scholars to interpret and collate the gravestones of Nestorians found in Central Asia, parts of Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, Quanzhou, and Yangzhou. In the last thirty years or so, the subject of the Church of the East (Nestorianism) has once again been the topic of intense debate by scholars both at home and abroad, and the study of the old Uyghur Nestorians has also been extensively covered. The recent archaeological re-excavation of the Xipang 西旁 Nestorian site and the new discovery of the Nestorian monastery at Tangchaodun 唐朝敦 in Xinjiang provide more research opportunities and possibilities for the study of Old Uyghur Nestorianism. However, in comparison with the studies on Chinese literature-based Nestorianism, there is still much to be considered and advanced in terms of the depth and breadth of documentary research and the study of the history of the spread of Nestorianism related to the old Uyghur people.

The original text was in Sanskrit and later translated into Tibetan, Chinese, Sogdian, Khotanese, Uyghur, Tangut and Mongolian. According to previous researches, there are more than 200 fragments of leaves in the Uyghur text Āryaaparimitāyur-jñāna-nāma-mahāyāna Sūtra have been found, and most of which were unearthed from Turpan and Dunhuang. This paper will study the interpretation of the fragments of the three-leaf old Uyghur blockprint of the Āryaaparimitāyur-jñāna-nāma-mahāyāna Sūtra in the Dunhuang Academy Collection.
