WMFhorse (cow) definition_number

edit

One should use only self explanatory abbreviations, descriptors and definitions. Remember the KISS principle. Neither one should use the value 3.14?E-2p for "WMFhorse (cow) definition_number". It should be known that for years the string "SUDOC" was used as parameter to hold the author Authority Control number in more then a dozen of WMF projects. Property PP1025 can not have now the abbreviation of what was / id still used in parallel for another meaning. Same as the propossal for SWBedition reference property P015 should have an abbreviation and description / explanatory text suited to identify / suggest to every newbee what it means. This note is not about the Wikidata description of this property and all similar properties. This might be SUDOCedition reference. "SUDOCedition is indivisable unable to be divided or separate in German "unzertrennbar". It should never ever happen that the property and its parameter values should be reffered as SUDOC. Only if you want to introduce more confusion and sources of errors you should do that. לערי ריינהארט (talk) 06:08, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

"Self explanatory abbreviations"? Why not just say: The label of the properties should be clear and unambiguously? --Kolja21 (talk) 10:14, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
You got it! IDref is as clear as "Main street". Most small towns have such a street; see search: Main street and Main Street (Q920251) a Wikimedia disambiguation page. Regards I18n (talk) 15:50, 19 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
