    Different IDs/redirect

    edit

It appears that the current IDs/URL schema are redirected to different IDs (e.g. http://cantic.bnc.cat/registres/CUCId/a10640745 => http://cantic.bnc.cat/registres/fitxa/38349 ). I have ~18K of the new ones in Mix'n'match. Should we somehow match these up? New property? Convert one (here or Mix'n'match) into the other? --Magnus Manske (talk) 10:15, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

    Format problem in August 2021

    edit

A problem has just arisen with the format of these IDs, which are working no more. I try to explain the situation as far as I understand it:

The final result is four IDs:

Whilst the new "b" ID seems presented by CANTIC as official (e.g. http://cantic.bnc.cat/registres/CUCid/b45103860), data sent by CANTIC to VIAF contain only old "a" ID and new long numeric ID; apparently, neither of these two IDs used in VIAF allows to reach either of the two IDs presently used in CANTIC, new "b" ID and old short numeric ID. Thus, we should probably wait for more information from CANTIC itself. --Epìdosis 08:11, 17 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Update: new numeric ID preceded by "b" has disappeared, substituted by old short numeric ID preceded by "a". Thus The situation has new become coherent again: the OPAC presents old numeric ID preceded by "a" as permanent links and uses old short numeric ID as non-permanent links; VIAF presents new long numeric ID in 001 field and old numeric ID preceded by "a" in 035 field. Thus old numeric ID preceded by "a" (the one used in Wikidata) works again in the OPAC and can be considered stable. --Epìdosis 07:06, 31 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Next update: the old numeric ID preceded by "a" seems to be definitively dropped in the OPAC, although it still remains in the field 035; the same can be said in VIAF, where the same ID is stored in the same 035 field; the new stable is ID is the new long numeric ID ("número de registre"), which works in VIAF with URL formatter http://viaf.org/processed/BNC%7C$1 but apparently not in the OPAC, where only the new short numeric ID seems to work with URL formatter https://cantic.bnc.cat/detall/$1/-. I would incline for proposing a new property for the long numeric ID, but we should wait until we find an URL formatter allowing to use it to reach the OPAC. --Epìdosis 17:10, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
    We are finally ready for a new property: Wikidata:Property proposal/CANTIC ID. --Epìdosis 13:20, 7 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
New CANTIC ID (P9984) created, it works with moreIdentifiers. With @Bargioni: we are studying a mass-copy of all P1273 IDs to new P9984 IDs for the next days. --Epìdosis 06:55, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

    Mass-copy of all P1273 IDs to new P9984 IDs   Done by @Bargioni:. --Epìdosis 17:33, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi, there are 411 item left with CANTIC ID (former scheme) (P1273) but without CANTIC ID (P9984) : https://w.wiki/4GNGeru [Talk] [french wiki] 23:04, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Eru: For all of these items it seems the old ID is disappeared and so there is no correspondent new ID; Bargioni reported these cases to the BNC, they will investigate. --Epìdosis 07:30, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I imagine that those disappeared old ID should be deprecated and have qualifier reason for deprecated rank (P2241)withdrawn identifier value (Q21441764), isn't it? At least, it is what I did manually with some of them before you commented this. It is worth to mention that some of them have another old ID that was not in Wikidata, like in Vincenzo Scamozzi (Q309733). FogueraC (talk) 14:28, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@FogueraC: Probably yes, I think. Maybe we can wait some weeks for BNC feedback and then deprecate them systematically. --Epìdosis 15:03, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
When links became broken with this Property I contacted them, and they created a redirect in their pages (which was far from optimal, though). I don't know if you managed to talk to them already, but I wanted to contact them to avoid any surprise and define a specific field as key. Good that you already moved one. I would provide any feedback I get anyway here... --Toniher (talk) 16:49, 24 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
    Return to "P1273" page.
