• Hi Matěj. According to the guidelines you must make some 50 - 250 edits before your bot being approved. I've done that, and i've added a pause of 60 seconds between every edit. Unfortunately i couldn't find the 'proper speed' anywhere in the guidelines, so i just assumed Pywikibot would be able to get that from the API. Husky (talk) 13:04, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Wikidata Skim

Hi Hay! A really cool idea with Wikidata Skim. I have a suggestion, which you can "take or leave" as we say here in the US: perhaps explain what "this property" and "is equal to this item" is...I'd love to be able to share this with a broader audience but most people won't understand how to use it. I'm a big supporter of writing "dummie's guides" so people who aren't knee deep in Wikidata or Wikimedia stuff can understand and use tools, too. Other than that, it's a cool tool! Hoi Hay, klein puzzeltochtje. Ga naar https://tools.wmflabs.org/wikidata-todo/linked_items.php , vul daar nl:Wikipedia:Wikiproject/Nederlandse parlementsleden/Totaaloverzicht in. Ga naar https://tools.wmflabs.org/autolist/ en plak daar het resultaat, zet de claim CLAIM[1749], manual list AND, WDQ NOT. Run het. Dan krijg je een lijst van zo'n 790 items. Kan je eens kijken waarom de import bij deze items niet goed is gegaan? Wellicht je alsnog een poging kan wagen? Voorbeelden zijn Willem Drees (Q12769) en Albertus Zijlstra (Q14751704). Dag @Multichill:. Ik snap niet bij allemaal waar het door komt. Een groot deel is denk ik vrij simpel te verklaren, bv nl:Gerard_Nederhorst heeft geen Parlement.com ID in de Infobox. Bij anderen, zoals nl:Jan_Duijs snap ik het dan niet, maar ik zie ze in ieder geval niet staan bij de oorspronkelijke export die ik ooit heb gemaakt. Husky (talk) 21:40, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Catalogus Professorum Academiae Groninganae

Hey,

I've just posted this request and I was wondering if you could create a mapping between that database and Nationale Thesaurus voor Auteursnamen ID (P1006). The DAI is listed on every entry of the Catalogus Professorum Academiae Groninganae. Can you do this and import them after the creation of the property? That will help a lot!

Height edit for Neil Fingleton

Hi there,

I just undid your edit (https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q3874300&type=revision&diff=555215402&oldid=554668368) that changed the units on a height property from millimetres to centimetres without altering the amount. Did you intend to do this? I'm pretty sure the guy isn't 76 feet tall; if you wanted this in centimetres instead of millimetres for some reason, please re-edit but also update the amount. start time (P580)

Hoi Hay, ik zie dat je op straten zoals Zwanebloemlaan (Q18960241) start time (P580) gebruikt. Voor fysieke objecten zoals straten is het gebruikelijker om inception (P571) te gebruiken. Dat zou ik hier ook doen. Daarnaast denk ik dat het goed is om official name (P1448) toe te voegen met als qualifier start time (P580). Dan heb je ook meteen een nette manier om de meerdere namen te verwerken. Wat betreft de referenties zie ik dat je Adamlink (Q54371815) al hebt aangemaakt. Ik denk dat je in plaats van alleen de url, zou ik stated in (P248) -> Adamlink (Q54371815) + retrieved (P813) -> vandaag + reference URL (P854) -> url doen. Oh, zou je nooit imported from Wikimedia project (P143) willen gebruiken tenzij het uit een Wikipedia komt? Zie Help:Sources voor meer info. Multichill (talk) 17:32, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Hee Maarten, even punt voor punt:

• Wat betreft start time (P580): daar heb ik al lang over getwijfeld en Menno had me er ook al op gewezen, maar zie ook Wikidata:Project_chat#P571_vs_P580. Het verschil wat je hier maakt (fysiek of niet-fysiek) is niet duidelijk gedocumenteerd. Mensen doen maar wat als ik kijk naar het gebruik: P571 komt inderdaad vaak voor bij straten, maar P580 zit dan weer vaak bij wegen. Zolang die twee properties niet duidelijker worden gemaakt heeft het m.i. weinig zin om de property aan te passen bij de straten.
• official name (P1448) toevoegen: lijkt me een nuttige toevoeging. Wat bied de qualifier voor meerwaarde als die ook al als property is toegevoegd?
• Reference url met link naar Adamlink: lijkt me inderdaad netter dan hoe het nu is.
• Wat betreft imported from Wikimedia project (P143): de beperking dat dit alleen bij WP imports voorkomt is totaal onduidelijk uit de propertypagina: die gaat zelfs helemaal in tegen wat er op die sources pagina staat ("source of this claim's value" vs "statements that are only supported by "imported from (P143)" are not considered sourced statements"). Zou daar dezelfde constructie moeten gelden als bij de andere referentie naar het jaartal?

User script request for P3303

Hi,

Do you think you could please make another user script, like the one you did for IIIF values, but for third-party formatter URL (P3303)?

I would envisage it working like this:

1. start in collapsed, inactive state, as User:Pasleim/derivedstatements.js does
2. when clicked (activated), on an item, for each identifier, fetch the P3303 value for each identifier (possibly more than one for any given identifier); also fetch the identifier label in the user's language; also fetch the label, in the user's language, of the operator (P137) qualifier for the P3303, if present
3. substitute the relevant identifier for the $1 string to form a valid URL
4. format the URL as an external link, using the identifier label and, in parentheses, the operator label
5. display a list of external links, using * markup

For example, using Andy Mabbett (Q15136093) and ORCID iD (P496), the script would generate:

* [http://europepmc.org/authors/0000-0001-5882-6823 ORCID iD (Europe PubMed Central)]

* [https://impactstory.org/u/0000-0001-5882-6823 ORCID iD (ImpactStory)]

Hockeyer i.p.v. botanicus

er is bij deze botbewerking blijkbaar iets fout gegaan: Paul Maas is een botanicus, en om de een of andere reden schreef jouw bot er destijds 'hockeyer' bij als omschrijving. Aha. Ik begrijp de gegevens uit die database niet, maar ik vermoed dat er sprake is van een persoonsverwisseling. Er zijn nogal wat mensen met deze naam. In elk geval is er de hockeyer die hier beschreven wordt in 2004, maar dat is hoogstwaarschijnlijk niet de botanicus die op dat moment net de pensioengerechtigde leeftijd had bereikt. (Overigens had ik in de database van Beeld en geluid nog eerder de gegevens verwacht van (waarschijnlijk) weer een andere Paul Maas, namelijk een video-editor (zie ook hier). Het automatisch toevoegen van data aan Nederlandse gemeentes

Beste Husky,

Ik heb al een hoop toegevoegd aan Wikidata als het gaat om gemeenten. Nu heb ik eigenlijk de vraag hoe dit in de toekomst automatisch toegevoegd zal kunnen worden (bijvoorbeeld bewolkingsdata 2020 of 2021). Ik ben trouwens ook al bekend met quick statements en OpenRefine. U schreef iets dat een bot dit misschien zal kunnen doen?

@Antoni1626:, dat zou inderdaad moeten kunnen. Ik weet niet welke data je precies zou willen toevoegen? Als het bijvoorbeeld alleen gaat om inwonersaantallen lijkt me dat het makkelijker is om dat jaarlijks met het handje / Quickstatements te doen. Je zult toch ook wel wat moeten tweaken met de data omdat er ook weer gemeentes af en bij komen. En omdat het om zo weinig daadwerkelijke statements (ik meen dat er iets van 350 gemeenten zijn) lijkt me het overkill om dat te automatiseren. Husky (talk) 14:31, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

@Husky:, Ik dacht aan data zoals de voorheen genoemde inwonertallen maar ook info zoals Nederlandse gemeente, begin en einddatum, Provincie, CBS en Amsterdamse code, Vervangen door (gemeente X) en natuurlijk de referenties (URLS). Is het creëren van nieuwe entiteiten een optie die automatisch kan (gemeenten die in de toekomst ontstaan)? Ik geef u gelijk dat alleen inwonertallen best wel 1 keer per jaar met hand zouden kunnen. @Antoni1626:, het kan allemaal automatisch, maar ik heb in het verleden wel gemerkt dat die gemeentes zo harig zijn qua al die gegevens dat het meestal makkelijker is om het alsnog met de hand te doen (eventueel dus in combinatie met Quickstatements). Maar mocht je een lijstje hebben met gegevens die je wilt importeren dan wil ik je best wel adviseren met het hoe en wat. Husky (talk) 16:13, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

Ajaxbruggen

Beste Husky, ik maak momenteel veelvuldig gebruik van je wikidata gegevens over deze bruggen in de Watergraafsmeer (dank daarvoor). Ik heb ze nu bijna allemaal klaar. Wat me opvalt is dat de Barry Hulshoffbrug hier ontbreekt. Zou je die aub nog kunnen opvoeren. Gegevens zijn te vinden op de nl, er zijn ook foto's op commons (Category:Brug 2236, Barry Hulshoffbrug). Het zou kunnen zijn dat deze er destijds uitviel, omdat ze in eerste instantie Hulshof hadden aangemeld....Alvast bedankt,Ceescamel (talk) 14:24, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Van der Sande Lacostebrug (Q28114447)

Onlangs was ik in Park Frankendael om wat bruggen te fotograferen. Eenmaal thuis bleek deze brug ergens anders te liggen dan dat de gemeente aangeeft. Ik ben de juiste coordinaten =Coor title dms|52|21|3.68|N|4|55|40.51|E|scale:3125_region:NL= inmiddels in het Nederlandse artikel gezet. Bij de wikidat klopt helaas ook het brug nummer niet. Dat komt vermoedelijk door een foutje van Het Parool. Het juiste brugnummer is 2180, zoals aangegeven bij de commonslink. Zou het willen verbeteren. Ondertussen heb ik ook de Nico Rijndersbrug gevonden, ook die stond op de kaart anders genoteerd dan waar hij in werkelijkheid ligt. Ik zou zowel de oude als de nieuwe locatie (en foto) opnemen voorzien van startdatum of einddatum. De huidige foto en locatie kan je dan de voorkeursstatement maken. @Ceescamel: dat is een van de grote verschillen tussen Wikipedia en Wikidata: Wikipedia beschrijft in de infobox hoe het nu is, Wikidata beschrijft daarnaast ook hoe het geweest is. Pand met klokgevel (Q17298141)

Ik heb het item aangevuld met een fotootje van de gevel. Het Nederlandse artikel heeft een nieuwe naam (Nieuwe Nieuwstraat 22) want Pand met klokgevel, dat zijn er wel erg veel in deze stad. Voor de overige gebouwen aan de Nieuwe Nieuwstraat heb ik eveneens foto's genomen. Helaas zijn de gebouwen te hoog voor een foto per pand, maar er zitten wel bruikbare foto's tussen. Call for participation in a task-based online experiment

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits. Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

Hee @Dajasj:, sorry dat het antwoord even op zich liet wachten. Als je kijkt op de categorie van Robbbert Dijkgraaf op Commons zie je dat er meerdere portretfoto's zijn. Het lijkt me een beetje zinloos om er meerdere (vergelijkbare) voor 'image' te hebben. Ik ben van mening dat je voor een item het beste één goede, representatieve foto kunt hebben. Dat maakt het ook gemakkelijker bij hergebruik, want als je meerdere foto's van iemand hebt welke is dan 'de juiste' (bij b.v. een infobox). Vandaar dat ik bij meerdere portretfoto's altijd kies voor de meest representatieve. Husky (talk) 10:48, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Correct. Dit komt door de import: de data die ik destijds aangeleverd heb gekregen bevatte alleen het eerste materiaal dat je op de site zag en daar mis je inderdaad de drager. Het is ook helaas niet overal 'canvas', deze is bijvoorbeeld op papier. Husky (talk) 10:58, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
