Bülent Yilmazer
Bülent Yılmazer is a mechanical engineer graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU) in March 1983. He has completed a certificate program in international management at Istanbul University in June 1986. At the end of 2018 he has defended his dissertation and completed master's degree study in history at Hacettepe University-Atatürk Institute. He has worked in the defense industry, at a managerial position for various military communication, guidance and weapon systems projects. He has special interest in history of Ottoman/Turkish aviation. He is lecturing history of aviation courses at METU (since 2004), University of Turkish Aerospace Association (since 2017) and Atilim University (since 2018). He has worked as advising instructor for aerial operations classes at Air War College (2009-2013).He has presented papers at various national and international military history symposiums since 2003. He has served as a committee member or chairperson on various conferences, symposiums and panels. He has published three books on history of Ottoman/Turkish aviation, co-authored two books on the same subject area. He has worked as advising curator for the Turkish Air Force Headquarters Museum. He has worked as adviser and co-producer on two documentary movies related to Turkish aviation history.
