The downhole tool is provided with a drill collar operatively connectable to the drilling tool, and a sensor mounted about the drill collar. The sensor is adapted to measure deformation of the drill collar whereby forces on the drilling tool are determined. The sensor may be part of a force measurement system, a strain gauge system or a drilling jar system. The drill collar is adapted to magnify and/or isolate the deformation applied to the drill string. In another embodiment the sensor comprises two sensing elements. An electrical property of the sensor varies as the distance between the two elements varies or the area between them varies, as in a capacitive position sensor. However the sensor can be that of the following types: LVDT, impedance, variable reluctance, eddy current or inductive. The sensor may even comprise a sealed cavity in which pressure variation is measured.

The present invention comprises: a dryer for generating warm wind; a flexible hood wherein the wind generated from the dryer flows into an inner space through an air inlet of an outer skin and then is sprayed through a plurality of nozzles provided in an inner skin; and a towel provided at the inner skin of the hood to absorb moisture of the hair and to finely spray the wind released from the nozzles. Such hair drying apparatus rubs the hair by using a built-in towel to continuously absorb moisture, continuously supplies warm wind to the depth of the hair to rapidly dry the hair, and can be constantly used due to easy exchange of the towel. In addition, the intensity of the dryer is automatically controlled through moisture and thus damage of the scalp due to heat is prevented.

Cradle-to-grave environmental impact analysis methods are rarely used as a metric during product development. In early stages of a project, companies measure feasibility according to money, performance and time metrics. Sustainability is commonly measured at a design cycle's end on finished products when design features cannot be easily modified for sustainability measures. It is ineffective to apply new design metrics to finished products. Evaluating the 'green-ness' of products is typically done to market the 'greenest' product in a line. This does not address the need to create sustainable products at project onset; thus, products remain 'un-green' and 'unsustainable.' It is time for a new feasibility metric of "Green Design with Life Cycle in Mind." Green design thinking must be accessible and applicable to product development through a set of tools designed for early stages of product development.
