My name is Mojdeh Saadati, and I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Iowa State University of Science and Technology- College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
My research interest lies in the application of machine learning and deep learning models in various domains, such as agriculture, social good, and public health.
In my Ph.D., I am focusing on improving machine learning decision-making by adding the ability to detect out-of-distribution and quantifying uncertainty in their decision-making.
I devoted my master's to studying causal inference and missingness mechanism, two fundamental problems in data science. As a result of this research, I devised an algorithm
to measure the causal effect of two sets of variables under data with an arbitrary missing mechanism. Also, during my research experience, I have collaborated on several public health projects published in top medical journals.
