The main problem for those systems results is the irrelevant alerts on those results. We will propose a data mining based method for classification to distinguish serious alerts and irrelevant one with a performance of 99.9% which is better in comparison with the other recent data mining methods that have reached the performance of 97%. A ranked alerts list also created according to alerts importance to minimize human interventions.

However, the growing demand of Cloud infrastructure has drastically increased the energy consumption of data centers, which has become a critical issue. Hence, energy efficient solutions are required to minimize this energy consumption. The energy efficient solutions aim at lowering the energy usage of data centers because computing applications and data are growing so quickly that increasingly larger servers and disks are needed to process them fast enough within the required time period. So in datacenters, the number of physical machines can be reduced using virtualization by consolidating virtual machines onto shared servers and enabling them to migrate according to migration policy. This paper presents virtual machines migration and selection policies to boost Cloud Computing Environment energy efficiency and performance.

Evaluating and formulating the rising rates of sea level and metrological parameters is a fundame... more Evaluating and formulating the rising rates of sea level and metrological parameters is a fundamental demand from engineering and environmental points of view. Daily tidal records and various metrological observations, at Alexandria, have been collected and analyzed covering the period from 1985 to 2003. The attained results show that the main metrological factors affecting the sea level rise are the air temperature, air pressure, and wind speed with correlation factors equal 0.60, -0.39, and -0.23 respectively. A relatively small relationship has been found between the sea level variations and the solar activities, as represented by the sun spot number. Additionally, it has been concluded that the 6 th -order polynomial function, among five investigated types of mathematical formulas, is the optimum model describing the relationship between the sea level and the metrological parameters. Moreover, the annual rising rates of the studied quantities have been estimated as 0.20 cm/y for...

We are interested in the role of oxidative stress in bladder detrusor smooth muscle (SM) in different disease states. In this study, we generated an inducible, SM-specific Sod2(-/-) mouse model to investigate the effects of MnSOD depletion on the function of the bladder. We crossbred floxed Sod2 (Sod2(lox/lox)) mice with mice containing heterozygous knock-in of a gene encoding a tamoxifen-activated Cre recombinase in the SM22α promoter locus (SM-CreER(T2)(ki)(Cre/+)). We obtained Sod2(lox/lox), SM-CreER(T2)(ki)(Cre/+) mice and injected 8-week-old males with 4-hydroxytamoxifen to induce Cre-mediated excision of the floxed Sod2 allele. Twelve weeks later, SM-specific deletion of Sod2 and depletion of MnSOD were confirmed by polymerase chain reaction, immunoblotting, and immunohistochemistry. SM-specific Sod2(-/-) mice exhibited normal growth with no gross abnormalities. A significant increase in nitrotyrosine concentration was found in bladder SM tissue of SM-specific Sod2(-/-) mice compared with both wild type mice and Sod2(+/+), SM-CreER(T2)(ki)(Cre/+) mice treated with 4-hydroxytamoxifen. Assessment of 24-hour micturition in SM-specific Sod2(-/-) mice revealed significantly higher voiding frequency compared with both wild type and SM-specific Cre controls. Conscious cystometry revealed significantly shorter intercontraction intervals and lower functional bladder capacity in SM-specific Sod2(-/-) mice compared with wild type mice. This novel model can be used for exploring the mechanistic role of oxidative stress in organs rich in SM in different pathological conditions.

ABSTRACT Data mining in databases is an important issue in the development of data and knowledge-... more ABSTRACT Data mining in databases is an important issue in the development of data and knowledge-base systems. It facilitates querying database knowledge and semantic query optimization. The aim of the work is to use data mining tools for intelligent query answering in database systems, which include generalization, data summarization and rule discovery. We used a model for a knowledge-rich database, which consists not only of the components from a deductive database but also the components relevant to knowledge discovery tools. The discovered rule set constitutes a graph whose edges are the rules. This condition dependency graph provides a map of possible query reformulation operations so that semantic query optimization could be performed. Semantic knowledge is needed to optimize queries. Semantic knowledge may be in the form of generalized rules or association rules. Both will be applied to semantic query optimization system.

However, little is known about its effect on cardiac remodeling associated with diabetic nephropathy. Therefore, this study was designed to study the effects of pioglitazone on cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy in a rat model of diabetic nephropathy. For this purpose, male Wistar albino rats were randomly assigned into 4 groups (n = 10 per group): normal (N) group, diabetic (D) group, diabetic nephropathic (DN) group received an equal amount of vehicle (0.5% carboxy methyl cellulose), and diabetic nephropathic group treated by oral administration of pioglitazone (10 mg/kg per d) for 4 weeks. Diabetic nephropathy was induced by subtotal nephrectomy plus streptozotocin (STZ) injection. The results revealed that DN rats showed excessive deposition of collagen fibers in their cardiac tissue, along with a marked myocyte hypertrophy. This was associated with a dramatic upregulation of cardiac transfor...

The paper also proposes a methodology for generating a stopword list from the prepared corpora. The aim of the paper is to investigate the effect of removing stopwords on the SA task. The problem is that the stopwords lists generated before were on Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) which is not the common language used in OSN. We have generated a stopword list of Egyptian dialect and a corpus-based list to be used with the OSN corpora. We compare the efficiency of text classification when using the generated lists along with previously generated lists of MSA and combining the Egyptian dialect list with the MSA list. The text classification was performed using Na\"ive Bayes and Decision Tree classifiers and two feature selection approaches, unigrams and bigram. The experiments show that the general lists containing the Egyptian dialects words give better performance than using lists of MSA stopwords only.

Interferon alpha (IFN-alpha) inhibits insulin release and may be cytotoxic to pancreatic islets. ... more Interferon alpha (IFN-alpha) inhibits insulin release and may be cytotoxic to pancreatic islets. Increased free radical activity may be implicated in the cytotoxic action of IFN-alpha and development of diabetes mellitus. Therefore we measured markers of free radical activity (lipid peroxides and the non-peroxide-conjugated diene isomer of linoleic acid [PL-9,11-LA']) along with some pancreatic variables in male albino rats treated with IFN-alpha, as well as the possible protective effect of two antioxidants, vitamin C and mannitol. Compared to untreated rats, it was shown that IFN-alpha induced an increase in plasma glucose. Pancreatic and serum insulin, as well as serum C-peptide, were increased after 1 week, then their levels were reduced after 2 weeks. Plasma lipids peroxides and (PL-9,11-LA') were markedly elevated, while linoleic acid was reduced. These changes in the studied parameters were attributed, in part, to the superoxide and free radical generation during IFN-alpha treatment. Plasma glucagon was increased after 2 weeks. Administration of vitamin C along with IFN-alpha succeeded in modulating most of the altered parameters affected during IFN-alpha. The hyperglycaemic effect of IFN-alpha was greatly ameliorated and the negative effect on pancreatic and serum insulin and serum C-peptide were nearly abolished. The elevated levels of lipid peroxide and (PL-9,11-LA') and the reduction in linoleic acid being normalised. The only persistent effect was the increase in plasma glucagon. Concurrent administration of mannitol with IFN-alpha caused no changes in the parameters studied compared to that induced by treatment with IFN-alpha alone.
