We investigate the rising trend of digital payment methods instead of cash. Then we discuss the government policies on digital payments and examine the current state of the adoption of cashless transactions. A list of cashless society readiness indicators is established, and data from Global Findex database, government policies and public comments and financial and commercial commentaries is used to highlight the readiness for the adoption of a near cashless society. We will adopt a mixed-method approach along with activity theory, to interpret data from the aforementioned databases and policy documents to understand to what degree and over what period of time, Australia becomes a cashless society. We also include a preliminary research model of our study moving forward

In order to see potential differences, we examined workflow management through interviews with managers and a questionnaire with employees. The results were analysed through Petri Nets in a simplified form. The second unit of analysis was examining relationships between employees and therefore their knowledge flows using Social Network Analysis to illustrate work patterns staff had with one another. Through overlaying the two we gained some understanding of matches and mismatches. The study took place in three IT units of one organisation – an Australian university. The outcomes of our study comprise potential recommendations for improving work efficacy, such as re-organising work practices, or potentially changing who works with whom.

Accordingly there are efforts to uniformly assess campus attitudes to such issues as cheating in assessments along with the policies and procedures in place to address them. This paper seeks to summarize and understand the attitude of the students and academic staff at an Australian university towards academic integrity, as reflected in the results of a campus-wide survey, using both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The main finding of the quantitative results was the disconnect between academic staff and students belief’s about academic honesty and the reactions of students and academics to dishonest behaviour. Four key themes of academic honesty were identified through qualitative analysis, being those of cheating, student, solutions to cheating and general concerns.

At a lower level, Business Process Management (BPM) is the set of management activities related to business processes that can ideally be arranged in a life cycle. Social Network Analysis (SNA) is a technique enabling the researcher to better understand interactions between people. Relatively little research has been conducted with regard to the crossover of social networks and workflows, with the aim of examining workflows as management views them, as opposed to the actual social interactions of staff. Improvements in the overlay of management interpretations of work and real social networks could potentially lead to improvements in business process efficacy. In this study SNA diagrams are examined in order to implement executable models and potentially enable automated analysis of workflows. A means of converting SNA data to Business Process workflows is presented and an example provided.

To assist, numerous vendors offer an array of technologies. But, as the conference theme asks, “what have we learnt so far?” with respect to the role, interplay and appropriate balance of “People, Knowledge and Technology”. Our work is specifically focused on the tacit knowledge, which is that component either gained through self-experience or through working with people who possess “know-how” (Roberts 2001). Research indicates the only way for soft knowledge to be effectively transferred is through the socialization process (Roberts 2001). Furthermore the dissemination of tacit knowledge can be a problem where organizations rely too heavily on information technology (Koski 2001; Walsham 2001). For an organization to benefit from its tacit knowledge resources it must undertake to examine the richness of the different forms of communication mediums it makes use of (Schulz and Jobe 2001; Koskinen 2000). ...

Aims: To contribute a large non-biomedical multidisciplinary dataset for abstract sentence classification model research. Method: Bulk extract and transformation of Emerald Group Publishing structured abstracts indexed on Scopus. Results: We present the largest multidisciplinary dataset for abstract sentence classification modelling, consisting of 1,050,397 sentences from 103,457 abstracts.
