Smart tourism definitely provides context aware real time insights but at the same time it creates challenges in privacy concerns, rights to co-created value, socio-physiological implications of ubiquitous connectivity, universal and neutral access to technology. evolving suitable business models, role of governments vis-a-vis private players with conflicting objectives. Despite these challenges Smart tourism is already happening and various stake holders are learning on the go. Governments worldwide are recognizing the importance of growing tourism business to increase employments and hence investing heavily in required ecosystem to enable better value creation. Smart tourism still in infancy offers great promise in near and distant future.

As markets are introduced and consumers seek more choices, their distinct preferences for quality and reliability has made differential pricing a reality. Traditionally, reliability was perceived as a public good but now it possesses economic value which can be bought (sold) in open market. The system operator has to assess the adequacy of transmission system more often and more rigorously to offer reliable services. There is a need to closely monitor and control the power flows on the transmission grid.
